TRICOT LIVE IN LEICESTER www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sus4WKgfmTU&feature=youtu.beThe audio is better than the Cardiff upload but that's not really saying much. Also the first 10 minutes of the upload is really dark, that wasn't my fault. After about 10 minutes, someone working at the venue had a good idea 'Hey! Wouldn't it be really good if the audience could actually see the band?' Thankfully my neighbour at this gig (a young math rock fan from Hong Kong) was a vast improvement on the drunken a***hole from Cardiff. He had a really nice girlfriend as well. I did try & talk him into coming to the Shonen Knife gig in Leicester in May. He seemed unconvinced if I'm honest. I did notice that Tricot had set up their own cameras so wondered if I should film. Feeling very naughty indeed I took my camera out & filmed fearing I would be told to stop filming at any second. All I have to worry about now are the YouTube Police knocking my door late at night. 'About these Tricot uploads...' Again as Ikkyu had bare feet I did include some nice foot shots for a certain Canadian. Looking back over the vid it just looks like I was perving over her rather nice legs.... Again I fear the YouTube Police 'About all this Japanese girl foot porn....' As I didn't have to rush like a fool after the gig to catch a train I was able to hang around & meet them at the merch table & get a CD signed. You will all be proud to know I resisted the temptation to tell Hiromi that I was in love with her!

You will all be proud to know I resisted the temptation to tell Hiromi that I was in love with her! Thanks for the video, and nice going with Hiromi. Stay classy! Better sound is better sounding. What you need is a 70Hz hi-pass filter with a nice knee. Tricot are so cute. "Are you leady for... party time? I am sorry. Samba time..." I can't tell if I prefer this show or Cardiff. This time was a nice take on the Hirohiro circular peghead paddle dance. The Audience Discipline Minute at 29:00 is priceless. 〜〜〜 I have a simple calculator for, OK to record? - Does the venue prohibit?
- Is there a label with a legal department?
- Is anybody likely to hate you during or after?
If it's no to all, then YouTube's not going to have a problem either. It's me they hate, not you. I finally turned on an ad-blocker because it's the only way I can keep a browser from hanging nowadays. Tricot is so much more realistic about opportunistic media than a management company that rhymes with Tomato Head. For TH, there's a special test: does God will it?

New music video on the tricot YouTube channel: "Setsuyakuka" from the KABUKU EP2016 April 13 by tricot Official (04:39) Directed by Yuji SakataniThree girls wander the world, geeking out and/or singing and dancing. Passersby are mostly blasé. The EP releases on the 27th. Ikkyu's comment on Twitter: The MV for the first song from the KABUKU EP has been published.
Honestly, there were fun days and there were painful days as I sang this song while walking in front of a camera every day for one month in Europe.
I made this song to encourage you yourself. I want to hear your lyrics. Obsessive fans were quick to spot drummer-to-the-stars Miyoko Yamaguchi having a cigarette by the freight door. At about 01:06.

What looks like an all-points press release from tricot.tv. This was carried verbatim by more than one news outlet. tricot live at something in somewhere — Eastern Europe?tricot publishes new song MV and tour dates; Fukuoka appearance with Rina Katahira decided2016 April 13 at OTOTOY (Japanese) ototoy.jp/news/83449In part, it goes: tricot have published a music video of "Setsuyakuka" from the new "KABUKU" EP to be released on April 27.
This is an MV that the girls have taken in all of the cities they visited performing on their European tour in March this year.
Odense (Denmark), London (UK), Cardiff (UK), Exeter (UK), Brighton (UK), Dublin (Ireland), Glasgow (UK), Leeds (UK), Leicester (United Kingdom), Paris (France), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Linz (Austria), Bratislava (Slovakia), Budapest (Hungary), Prague (Czech Republic), Berlin (Germany), Hamburg (Germany), Copenhagen (Denmark), Aarhus (Denmark), Stockholm (Sweden), and Gdansk (Poland) — 21 cities in all, even shooting on the ferry crossing the Strait of Dover towards France from the United Kingdom.
It seems tricot are keeping up their DIY activities in everything from management to videography and production for MVs and the like.
In addition to being carried out in the vicinity of the hotels where they stayed or in live venues between rehearsals and performances, many times band members are defiantly without makeup, making this an MV which literally reflects the real face of tricot. Watching all the fun details in the MV is like instantly reliving the European tour...Worth pointing out: since all three core members are in many of the shots, either they drafted Miyoko to run the camera, or somebody else was along to do the shooting.

The weirdness of Ikkyuhttp://instagr.am/p/BEMOIGDlRRj Surely there is some half-baked idea behind this. Although I can't locate a reference right now, I remember an older interview that rehashed Motofour having been a year ahead of Ikkyu at the same high school, in the same music club (though not the same band). Q: Really? What was Ikkyu like in high school?M: (Looking at Ikkyu) You were strange.http://instagr.am/p/BEMNpwSlRQk Recognize your girl in blue and white at right? It's not so easy!

I hope to see you again soon. A world that is safe for math rockThe birth of a sister label to tricot's independent Bakuretsu Records. To release on 5/11, a 2-disk split album for tfvsjs and GDJYB of Hong Kong. The press release continues: Not only for the sake of erasing national boundaries for tricot's type of music, in future Bakuretsu International will continue to introduce more interesting music and exciting scenes. Watch for continuing developments at Bakuretsu International.Things must be going pretty well at Bakuretsu. I hope they're getting good advice, because that can definitely change if they don't know what they are doing. The alphabet-soup names tfvsjs and GDJYB stand for bands from HK that sound like... well, they sound exactly like tricot but not as fun IMHO. Singing in Cantonese and English. pop song 1.02013 July 01 by tfvsjs (05:01) Music Video for "pop song 1.0" by tfvsjs - "equal unequals to equal"Overtly mathy. Bakuretsu Records at Ustream.tvBakuretsu artists, just tricot so far, occasionally stream live video for your realtime enjoyment. So far, they're doing this when it's convenient for Japan and streams are not archived for later. Be there, or be square. Yesterday at 6am Pacific Time was an example. I didn't join because I have to sleep sometime. Ikkyu is somewhat good about announcing on Twitter, but it seems her idea of advance notice is anything greater than 60 seconds ahead of start. If you sign up and follow the channel, you can receive email alerts, but again those are like, by the way, we're streaming right now if you're interested... ustream.tv/channel/bakuretsu-records-channel

The Ustream webcast was about the new KABUKU release, out right now in Japan. A Reddit user who watched took notes about the current crop of drummers: reddit.com/r/tricot/comments/4gdj9n/drummers_on_kabuku_ep/I was kind of hoping that Bakuretsu would like Bandcamp enough to put new albums there, but no, on the contrary, their site has been emptied out. So it's physical delivery only for uncompressed audio, looks like. Their Soundcloud is not updated since "Pork Ginger" either...

Ikkyu's puppy-dog face all cleaned up and ready to be taken outIkkyu is 27 today, the 28th of May. The band celebrated on a ferry boat ride which somebody said was an annual event, but nobody explained. https://instagram.com/p/BF9avWOFRdI 27-Sai ni narimashita! Ima made arigatōgozaimashita! プ♡リケツMeanwhile, on the 20th, Hiro-hiro-san quietly spent a lot of her own birthday asleep in the tour van or working. She kept pretty mum about it, it was Ikkyu who originally spilled. Quite an affectionate little notice it was. But then: This was her present♡The present has a story of its own. Iku-chan ga kureta pazuru no ura ni watashi no yoitoko kaite kure tete kore atta
PU♡RIKETSUOn the back of the puzzle Iku-chan gave me, where they had written down my good points, there was this SUCCULENT♡ASS 〜〜〜〜〜 It's good to have friends. Hiro-hiro called Ikkyu "Iku-chan" which is a mis-spell, a pet name, or revenge, since you could read it as "come-chan" if you wanted. Ketsu is a completely vulgar word for your sitting tackle. There really are no polite or comical associations for this term. Puri is that quality of tenderness, plumpness, and juiciness that you look for in first-rate fresh shrimp. Or, you know — someone's ketsu. Related to puru, which means tremble or quiver. 〜〜〜〜〜 Celebration continuedGot this the other day on tour in Sapporo. Looks like me, although no eyeballs. Thank you〜!karibito: Incredible (tears of laughter) a master artist (lol)totoriii: It's ma◯min-chan, she drew it (lol)Inside the lid… I LOVE curry
Happy ♡hi Birth ♡ro [pop] Day ♡mi
LOVE Hiro-Hiro Anybody following her instagram knows about that zest for curried food, and not just the brownish sludge slapped on a plate of white rice. The rest of it is the usual affectionate malarky you get on a group birthday card. Super-idol Masuki-chan changes Hiromi's nickname to Piro-Piro for the occasion; piro-piro is a party horn. Signing as 3110, Saito says, "Thank you for noticing every time I get a haircut♡♡ 3110 does reception for tricot" Azu proposes a "CLASSIC kampai~i, let's do it." "Are you really 28?" Totori disbelieves. Another well-wisher says, "I can't remember the last time I saw Hiromi-chan (lol)" (The handwriting is awfully scrawly.)

Ikkyu does it on sheer guts sometimes. Or oftentimes, actually.
That works because the performance justifies staging it like, "just me alone on a high wire folks, a moment of your attention only please."
This is the video commercial for g.o.a.t., for the record. Everybody's apparently pretty happy with this, and it has artistic merit.
Well, the song performance does; the CM is a pretty harsh ride, filled with jarring transitions to keep the most jaded millennial from zoning out.
At a minute fifty, this can't be for TV. They're just taking it straight to the internet where their users are.
g.o.a.t x Ikkyu Nakajima 2016 MAY 12 by g.o.a.t Japan (01:50)
g.o.a.t is a blog service with emphasis on beautifully expressing ideas. g.o.a.t’s goal is to allow bloggers to fully express themselves with minimal restriction. The beta version pre-registration is available now. Anyone who registers will receive an invite to use the service this summer on a first-come, first-served basis.
In other words, g.o.a.t. is a more modern re-creation of Tumblr, on steroids, with a menu-free user interface for Japan. And either they are playing a typical exclusivity marketing game, or you're going to have to pay for it when it gets out the test launch phase.
