Woo-hoo!!!!! My first ticket for this tour has just arrived. What's really cool is that it's for the gig in Stowmarket at the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts and it's ticket number A1. Definitely first class! Sorry for bragging, but I'm kinda thrilled about getting my ticket. ;D For those who don't know, John Peel, on his late-night show, was the first radio presenter to play Shonen Knife on UK radio. It was their single, "Ah, Singapore" which he had just received that afternoon and I was lucky enough to be addicted to his show. I instantly fell in love with their music and it's been a long lasting love affair. He also had them in to do a couple of sessions for his show. Attachments:

Wegottickets only do e-tickets, for this event you may want to try getting tickets from Damnably as they post the tickets out. But I don't know if they post overseas. Here's the link to Damnably's ticket shop. www.damnably.com/ticket-shop/

ShonenKnife announce 'BBQ-Party' August 17 At The Brixton Windmill! 100 tickets on sale NOW £10 @ www.wegottickets.com/event/231309Woo-hoo, I knew that they couldn't just do the AyaCon event and then leave me hanging 'till the start of the European tour to see them again. It's just a shame that AyaCon will still be happening in Warwick when the BBQ-Party is on in London. Oh woe, what to do, what to do? And me a vegetarian! GO! Attachments:

It was announced that there would be specially printed tickets for Shonen Knife's London gig at Dingwalls, the final date of this year's European tour. But what would it be like? Perhaps it would be a giant sized ticket the size of Naoko's tiny guitar, or perhaps even something bigger - as befits our favourite giants of rock, SK. My wait to find out is now finally over. The ticket that arrived today is small and perfectly formed - just like Shonen Knife. Perhaps its a bit too small to get three signatures with drawings to squeeze onto it, but it is certainly a lot nicer than any of the other tickets that I've had over the years. And it's not one of those pesky e-tickets! It arrived accompanied by one of those postcard sized flyers, one side printed with the Dingwalls poster, the other side with the Windmill's BBQ Party poster. Attachments:

WOW, great looking ticket.... so, you'll be getting to vote for the setlist, does that happen online, on the Damnably webpage?

WOW, great looking ticket.... so, you'll be getting to vote for the setlist, does that happen online, on the Damnably webpage? Yes, it is a rather nice ticket. The voting for the set-list is online and voting starts on Friday 29th July and the voting is open for one month. Damnably will be supplying a link to the voting site, presumably closer to the voting date. With all the hot weather that the UK is baking in just now, I've a yen to hear Shonen Knife perform Summertime Boogie. So I just listened to the Minna Tanoshiku version to get my fix. Mmmmmmmmmichie!

She has said that she's got both of the Shonen Knife song books that were printed years ago. Presumably she got them in her pre-SK days.

I pretty sure Rits knows 'em all. I mean, she even corrects Naoko when she gets the song titel "wrong" and tells her from which album the song is ;D youtu.be/I-j1eMtiJUc

The voting for the Dingwalls set-list starts today. With all of these great songs to pick from it's going to be a very difficult decision for me to just confine my voting to just 25 songs, that is all you can eat pick. But there are a few definite must-haves. Actually they're all must-haves, but I guess that Shonen Knife would be a bit exhausted after playing a set consisting of all of the songs on the list. No Summertime Boogie, sniff, sniff. Getting to hear them performing Orange Sun live would really be something. Does anyone know if they have they done an English version of that one. I've got the CD single which is so wonderfully sung in Japanese. Attachments:

Wow! If I was there, I would definitely like to hear the old songs like Parallel Woman, Elephant Pao Pao, A Day at the Factory, Insect Collector, Tortoise Brand. Yeah, I agree Orange Sun would be great too! Rock!!
