I still can't figure out what Naoko sees in KISS 0.o Any stage performer would have to admire their freedom from limitation, or even a decent sense of proportion. Egomania is exciting! But I am not in the Kiss Army, so will never understand. The best I can do is, it's what 11 year olds see in pro wrestling. Good call, showbiz over talent

Same enthusiastic geek girl as in 1981.
The Yiddish-ish for this is : "OY, SUCH A PUNIM!!"
I think a good Japanese expression might be "tamagonimehana." Roughly, that means a face as round and cute as... an egg!
I clicked on Like because there's no button for Love.

Naoko looking good on this tour - don't you think? How does she do it? Is it her diet? Fruits and vegetables? Mango juice? Green Tea? Or is it playing tennis? Rocking for almost 35 years and still playing (and looking) great:)

A little catch-up at year's end. Judge NaokoOsaka Music Grand Prix (OMG)Art Innovation Center, Osaka (Asahi Ward) Special Guest Performers: BURNOUT SYNDROMES From Naoko Osaka Music Grand Prix Judge2015-11-05 I was there to be a judge. Although being a judge is nothing to get high and mighty about. (^_^ The venue put up postersOut of about 60 groups of applicants, the six groups selected performed with a 15-minute time limit. All the contestants were highly skilled and played enthusiastically. They were terrific! It was hard to pick a winner. With music, you either like it or you don't, but winning or losing is impossible because it's not a sport. Judging zealously?!Since it was first formed, Shonen Knife has never entered a band competition. Maybe we were scared to, because we didn't want to be flattened by being faced with harsh criticism! Heh heh heh. Thanks for the hard work, everybody! 〜〜〜〜〜 The eventual winners were UNUBORE. Their name means "conceit" in Japanese, although they were publicly humble about their win. It was by audience acclamation, so it's not quite clear that the word of the judges was either final or crucial.

Naoko - still Rock Goddess:) ALWAYS a rock goddess, and occasionally even comes with berry-colored halo that matches her guitar.

A well deserved refreshment don't you think? I don't know which looks better, Naoko or the pint. I'll have a little of both, please

Naoko gets around to the blog at last From Naoko June 10, 2016 CONPASS, Shinsaibashi, Osaka2016/07/23 (Sat) shonenknife.net/blog/archives/20321Naru, the Rick bass, and Naoko's Flying V all got a workout for a show at Osaka Shinsaibashi Conpass. Atsuko came as merch girl. This raucous rock show was billed as "Psi: Vol. TENGU", organized by OSHIRIPENPENZ, whose name is approximately The Butt Spanks. Naoko says they are fun and artistic. No wonder she thought the V with the skulls strap was the right choice. Here are OSHIRIPENPENZ at Namba Bears last November. "Altered states"by OSHIRIPENPENZ2015 NOV 28 by 妖怪田ブタ子 (01:31) Nanba Bears 2015.11.18 OSHIRIPENPENZ「Altered states (GORI-MACHO)」 2015.11.18 Namba BEARSAlso appearing: TADZIO and Die Hard (Shinji Wada, drummer for A Giant Thus Enormous and DMBQ, formerly of the King Brothers; and MAYA, current Gt./Vo. for the King Brothers). After DMBQ overcame its horrible New Jersey car crash, Shinji replaced Mana Nishiura full-time on the drummer's stool. Remember the globe made of welded steel pipe and stuffed with drums? I think it was on display at a publicity installation sponsored by Yamaha. Well, he probably left it home this time, but that's Shinji too. This is the DRUMBOL, at least as a conceptAnd here's 4 minutes of Shinji Wada drumming in the dark, also at Namba BEARS about 5 years previous.
