Naoko's face (I'm not exactly sure how to describe it) makes her look like the tough one of the group--but in a playful sort of way. And I'm assuming the smiling cat with angry eyebrows on the cover of "Free Time" is Naoko. It's like she's ready to pounce or something. Like she's cute, but you better watch out because she's also a hard core punk rocker. And of course, "cute" and "dangerous" is what Shonen Knife is. So I guess Naoko represents that.

By the way, did you make these Mikado? (or do you prefer Mikey?) Mikado comes from when I was a rabid Otaku, I still enjoy anime & manga, but, 'm no longer a fanatic.... Most people call me Mikey, these days; either is fine Well, sort of, I made them here: www.dolldivine.com/chibi-maker.phpHowever the one in my new AV is 100% by me

Totally agree, Naoko represents a big part of SK and as my feeling for the band: at first sight you don´t give much atention, but one day you realize that you´re in love.

Does anyone else miss Naoko's signature guitar, the Fujigen Naoko Yamano Special? Lately, she's no longer even bringing her salmon pink princess with her on American tours; instead, she's been using a Daisy Rock (As they have been one of her biggest US sponsors); now don't get me wrong, the Daisy is competent, but, it also seems to go out of tune, quite a bit, during the gigs. For those of you who can't recall all the details, here's a description/endorsement of ol' pinky.... Japanese Fenders are made by Fujigen Company, a high end maker of guitars and basses which are only sold in Japan. I own a Fujigen guitar - a Naoko Yamano Signature Model but there is only one other in North America and I had to get mine from Japan (Fujigen will not ship to the U.S.A.). The quality of the guitar is superb. I also have a Fender Telecaster '52 reissue made between 1984-86 by Fujigen, and again it is superb (and I have played several Fenders actually made in the 50's). I haven't played the basses but from the quality of the guitars I can tell you: they are better than the made in the U.S.A. Fenders. They are not as good as a real pre-C.B.S. Fender by a small margin. They are about equal to a Custom Shop Fender at about 1/3 the price. My Naoko guitar has the best finish I have ever seen on a guitar - it's like a Lexus. The body is bound at the edges and everyone thinks it is painted on because you CANNOT see the joint line but it really is bound in cream plastic. Hope this helps. how to screenshot on windows 7

I'm not a guitarist, and yes, the Fujigen Naoko Yamano Special is very nice, but for me, it has to be Naoko's pink sparkly baby. It is so beautiful - a great colour and it really comes to life under the stage lights. Oh, and it sounds fantastic. For me, that is the Shonen Knife guitar. It looks and sounds fantastic in Naoko's hands. Earlier today I was watching a Shonen Knife vid with Naoko playing her sparkly beauty. One of my friends who's a guitarist came round and watched some of the vid with me. Unprompted, he said that he was impressed by the sound of her guitar and also with what Naoko was doing with it. He's no SK fan, but I've played their stuff at him so often that he now recognises some of their songs. Another one of my friends loves the Japanese Fenders, he also rates them above the US produced ones. He also says that he'd buy a Mexican made one rather than a US one and perhaps spend some of the savings made on changing/upgrading a few bits. But then his guitars seldom stay the way they left the factory, he's got one particular set of favourite pickups that he tries out in just about everything. Here's a nice pic I found from 2010, image upload

I find it so interesting that this person and that person are the same person. At left, KISS fan Naoko anticipating an evening of musical theatre at the Castle Hall in her hometown of Osaka. A cell phone photo, October 2013. "Their show is always great but this one was the super best ever!" At right, Madam Chairman Naoko's official portrait as seen in April 2010 on the Good Charamel blog. That was the letter to the shareholders about Etsuko's one-way maternity leave. You have to have both things when lives and the very future of Rock are at stake.

I still can't figure out what Naoko sees in KISS 0.o Any stage performer would have to admire their freedom from limitation, or even a decent sense of proportion. Egomania is exciting! But I am not in the Kiss Army, so will never understand. The best I can do is, it's what 11 year olds see in pro wrestling.
