The TIME2LOVE stream from their music studio in Seoul is all captioned and ready to replay at Naver's V LIVE site. vlive.tv/video/10328The Barberettes get wacky when they panic. It's like watching a reality screwball sitcom. They're in their below-ground studio where wireless reception is weak — surprise, nothing works. When they get their network link up, they take turns ad-libbing Home Shopping Channel sales pitches for their second release, a soundtrack EP for the movie Goodbye Single Shinae An keeps throwing in piano riffs, jamming everyone's thought process. She says they wrote a new group intro song in English. A little mild snarking on K-pop: This is not typical K-pop, I hope you'll enjoy the show No, there will be not be no fancy dance; no, there's no [ sounds like "Cine Shade"] But we would love to sing for you… And let the party begin! They segue into "Barberettes". Fans use these occasions to harass the group remotely. "Can you dance for me?" Protip: the artists are not monkeys on a gold chain. Asked about travel experiences, what comes first to mind is: some hotels really surprised us. Stay tuned for more and happier details. They took a photo in the UK at the Great Escape festival with their new crush, Zak Abel. Thank you, Mr. Abel. Captioning reveals they are cool people with busy, workaday lives. These chats are full of mundane lunch-table details. Lives of the would-be rich and famous. They start out singing a verse of a retro girl-group song with English and Korean lyrics called "Hold My Hand" that Shinae wrote for the K-pop singer Lee Hi. They forget to stop, so we hear substantially the whole thing. It's full of mistakes we can't hear, but they say sorry anyway. They rock out on "TIME2LOVE" to finish. They always worry that the webcast is screwed up, but it's always fun for that reason. They're actually more adorable when it's a shambles. They are always affectionate and supportive to each other, and they love what they're doing. Sunny might be the warmest person alive.

http://instagr.am/p/BGmYrn8oIgJ Two weeks ago at the Korean movie premiere. When they say "featuring Marty Friedman" it's that Marty Friedman, of Megadeth fame. He moved to Japan and is highly involved with Asian metal, as you'd think... but also retro and traditional music. Which makes him a Barberettes fan and now collaborator. Also, when the Barberettes say their makeup works like magic, you'd better believe. Did you recognize them at first glance?

Nice interview and article in The Korean Herald. If it seems to be all in Korean, select the English Language edition up above the nav bar at the top of the page. The Barberettes are thrilled with this. EggPlant's promo shot emphasizes travel, hint, hint[Hallyu Power] The Barberettes bring retro back2016-06-07 by Julie Jackson for The Korean Herald Local female doo-wop trio pays tribute to old school music with 'time-slip' singles koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20160607000366This is the 15th article in a series that explores the driving forces behind hallyu and the global rise of Korean pop culture. -- Ed.
The ladies’ popularity has proven that despite their non-modern, non-mainstream pursuits in performing musical styles that were considered hip six decades ago, doo-wop music still has a niche in today’s scene and can be appreciated by music lovers, no matter the generation.
“Oh my god, our parents love our music,” the members said in unison.

Nice!! So high-tone. This is a GREAT interview and a great way to spend 45 minutes. It might be the single best way to find out what The Barberettes are about. New unofficial member of the Days of Wine and Roses club eSNa says: vocal harmony = sex. Sounds like you'll see and maybe hear her if they record the next meeting on Saturday. It took 6 whole minutes to get into the topic of hair color. Shinae An's favorite instant ramyun is thick and tender! At 33 minutes, Sunnie and Sohee are cracking up over Neoguri brand packaged ramyun noodles from the Nongshim Company Ltd. It took them a couple of seconds to work out what brand had an animal mascot, then they thought naming it in English was the funniest thing ever. SoSundry's YouTube channel has a small selection of other recorded Arirang Radio interviews, including Brave Girls on Super K-pop (04 July).

Barberettes say they are appearing on the POWER FM channel of SBS radio in 15 minutes... I think. SBS network homepage (Korean)- - - - - That didn't seem to pan out. I can't tell why, unless there was a mixup about the channel or broadcast time, or what streams from SBS is not the same as what they air. It sure sounded like any other FM radio jock at 1AM on a Sunday morning. They always make like they want to cuddle up on the couch with you. SBS's little iPhone radio widget "GOREALRAPOD" (go-real-ra pod? GorillaPod?) works great, though. After couple of hours of K-pop, still zero Barberettes. Maybe I wasn't patient enough. Right now they're playing '80s UK 2-tone covers. WTF. Word to the wise: the app defaults to the "LOVE FM" channel. You probably want to pick "POWER FM" every time. Right now LOVE FM just had "How Much Is That Doggy In The Window?" — the Patti Page original. Before that it was "Feelings" and and now it's a punky pop singer/songwriter whose name I didn't catch. I'm going to go rinse my brains with some Scumraid.

These are super-nice sets, they sound as great as I've ever heard them. Advertising the first show on Facebook, and with such personality! Wait, wasn't it the left arm? They appeared two weeks in a row in the noon-2pm slot on the MBC broadcasting company's radio station FM4U, FM 91.9 in Seoul. There's a noontime all-request show, that's not this. This is talk-radio with musical guests. Nobody has said what Sohee was doing to get her arm in a sling. She's not too particular about keeping her arm in it anyway. MBC has a fat YouTube channel with all the K-pop you can stand. ▶ Playlist for MORE Hope Song at Noon Guest (Playlist URL seems busted. Tailor-made for fans of the original lineup
Onstage K Ep4 The Barberettes 바버렛츠 2015 MAY 05 by ARIRANG (24:04) The Barberettes has been crowned the hottest girl group in the Korean indie scene. They take everyone back in time with their renditions of 50′s and 60′s music and also go everywhere they can to spread their music, amazing people of all ages with their fantastic vocal harmony.
ONSTAGE [K] provides our viewers with an opportunity to take a glimpse at their artistry.
The Barberettes is a trio comprised of Ahn Shin-ae, Kim Eun-hye and Park So-hee. They gave their first performance in 2010 and officially formed the group in 2012. The trio received international attention thanks to their cover of "Be My Baby" by The Rosettes, and has been actively pursuing their careers as musicians with the first studio album, "The Barberettes Volume.1" (2014)
Arirang TV made this nifty walk through their career from the start up to mid-2015. So it's Grace Kim, not Sunnie Lee, and they're less pop. You get the classic awesome sound of the "Barberettes" Beach Boys cover, which they cut for time. But it's more than made up for. English and Korean with English subs.
