Unaccustomed as I am to public bragging , I just can't help myself... [ Trove of booty ] What can I say? I had a great time and have loads of pics, MxBx were wonderful even with the rather low vocal level which we had in Cardiff. Where, despite being asked, the sound engineer didn't raise the vocals much - if at all. It was a rather damp weekend and I got rained on which made me ache loads and so lots of painkillers were taken which has made everything a bit of a blur. I'll try and write more and maybe post some pics when my hands hurt less - I've not looked at anything yet but am hoping for something decent. Sorry about the weather-related suffering. Naoko likes Las Vegas, you would too. Except it gets really chilly indoors. Wow that is some premium loot. The 8-bit badge is rad.

Ah, well, MxBx's dot-to-dot of this tour is now completed... But at least I managed to grab a little slice of the excitement. They were so much fun that I had to grab just one extra gig and risk rattling with pills again. Sorry its taking me a while to get something written my hands are making me very slow just now, I'd recovered enough from the frenzy of my first two gigs to go off and have more fun and got all messed up again. Boy, it was worth it though. To be going on with, here's some pics from the Cardiff gig. MxBx were supported by two local bands at The Globe in Cardiff. First up were Disjoy and they were followed by Gindrinker. Sorry for the lack of words, but if you're interested, I've stuck more pics here. 3xMxbx is awfully enviable. I know about the monster up in the loch, and sea serpents in the Bristol Channel, but is it really true that they're holding sheep races all over the British Isles? I think that part is just decoration. It's so respectable, the way they just zip-tie pedals on to an Ikea kitchen grid rescued from gomi day and daub setlists onto a piece of paper towel from the washroom. Or whatever that is. I wish I had a penny for every time a sound guy has wanted to tell Yako-san to stop holding the mic like it's a bonbon she's hiding from the nieces and nephews. I'd have, maybe 500 pennies.

Yeh tangerinesun , that one does look like fun. I'd been wondering what sort of music MxBx were going to be doing with the kids and what they'd be getting up to. MxBx, children's entertainers, bookings available for parties. Here's a couple of nice vids that emigrantpunk has uploaded to YouTube of their Dublin gig from this year's tour.

Here is FAQ about MELT-BANANA. www.melt-banana.net/Q: What type of music? Answer: …It is hard to categorize their music, but basically they are rock band with a spice of punk taste…F A I L The easiest way to find out is to listen to their music and you will find out. You really didn't want to answer this one at all, did you? I don't think I really need much more of a reason for this. It was the first upload to their official YT channel, which consists mostly of home movies from overseas tours, and neglect. "The Hive" - MELT-BANANA2013 OCT 14 by MELT-BANANA CHANNEL (02:15) "The Hive" (from the album"fetch") Music by MELT-BANANA, video directed by IROHAwww.melt-banana.net www.facebook.com/pages/Melt-Banana... twitter.com/melt_banana/
It's not that MxBx is so hardcore or so noise, not at all. It's only that ALL OF THEIR FRIENDS ARE, so they're guilty by association. They like to go so loud, fast and short, and with such oblique song lyrics, that only people with a taste for abstract violence keep up for very long with the earsplitting 1,000rpm candy gun.

Dog Song album version with lyrics Because the Dublin performance is so inspiringly illegible
Melt-Banana - Dog Song [ HD ] 2012 APR 12 by Avery Gleaves (01:21) Dog Song [ HD ] is from Melt-Banana's album Bambi's Dilemma (2007) I do not own anything. Music and picture belongs to respective owners.
"Melt Banana-Dog Song", sound recording administered by: IODA
Just by ear, because I don't have a hard copy of this:
He likes some bones He likes to bite hard He likes some toys He likes to run fast
I hear some, hear some barks I hear some, some — LOUD BARKS! I hear some, hear some barks I hear some steps, 'cause he's a DOG!
ワンワン ワンワンワンワン ワン ワンワン ワンワンワン ワン ワンワン ワン ワンワンワンワン ワン ワン ワンワン ワンワン ワン ワン ワンワンワン ワン ワンワン ワン ワン
He likes some tones He likes to bite hard He likes some pies He likes to flip high
I see some, see some nose I see some, some — big ears I see him jump, 'cause he's a dog!
Who's a dog? Who's a dog? Who's a dog? So who are you?
Watch out the moon falls! Watch out the moon falls! He goes, Let it fall, 'cause I'm from the moon!
Who's a dog?
If you think you know for certain whether it's "who's a dog", "whose dog", or "who is dog"… you must have a printed lyrics sheet. Whatever it is, it had to be crammed into 2 beats.

I must have said before, I draw a line in tape between live music performance and recorded music playback. Something most of us are happily oblivious about. Nothing against DJs, installation art, sound environment people, or bands on a budget. It's just that if all your expressive control is in one push of your index finger — you're triggering, not playing. See this? It's my Numark Orbit 2.4GHz MIDI controller. If I drop it, we might all go home early. It has 64 assignable triggers… selectable control by accelerometer data… full Traktor support… Internet… Wait, that's a text message… How did Mom get this address? Sry cant talk call u ltr That was weird, let's continue. Remember when your dad toyed with your pedal boards? Mom, go away!!! Or actually, I think I can text and do the show, both. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen~~ Ready? I'm going to kick off the next 06:19! Here goes… Uh-oh, did I just wipe all the pad colors? It was Bank 3, Number 3, I'm sure… ARRRGH, I skipped ahead. We'll do "Lefty" at the encore, OK? My fault. Damn.
