When I was first getting into Shonen Knife, "Riding on the Rocket" stood out to me because it sounded so much like a Ramones song. And it's so catchy! I find myself singing it all the time. And it was the first SK song I learned on the bass (thanks to shonencello!). I also really like classics like "Bear Up Bison" and "Twist Barbie", and I love "Miracles". I love all the songs on Free Time, but I especially like "Do You Happen to Know". And I'm sure there are lots of other songs I can't think of right now.

My favorite Free Time song is "Love Song"; I played it 5 times in a row, the first time I played the album! ;D

Ooo, such a difficult question to answer. It depends on which SK song I'm listening to at the time 'cos they're all faves. Though certain Beetles covers are slightly less favorites.
But my longest all-time fave song is the single Ah, Singapore sung in Japanese - my first exposure to SK and I fell instantly in love with the band.
A few other special faves in no particular order are:
It's A New Find - with SK's handy tips on laundry. Wash your socks, turn them inside out A Map Master - reminds me that I'm not the only person who keeps getting lost even with a map in hand. It happens nearly every time I go to a gig (note to self - get satnav) Slug - the horror of pesky slugs Little Tree - it's the thought of that big bulldozing caterpillar pushing down all of the trees Fruits and Vegetables - healthy eating tips from SK, by the way I don't eat chicken too (I'm vegetarian) Barnacle - ah, the futility of existence and trying to get on Twist Barbie - due to mis-heard lyrics, Barbie will always wear combat boots rather than being welcomed by boys SPAM - you gotta have spam with everything...or is that you can have everything and spam too! P.Y.O. - it's the thought of picking Chuck Berrys A World Atlas - with a world atlas I get to visit Osaka and I ride my bike 'round the town thanks to G****e Earth. Cycling Is Fun - 'cos it is! Deer Biscuits - being laughed at whilst being mobbed by herds of deer. Eek! Mosquitoes - the thought that Japanese girls, and Naoko in particular, are mosquitoes favorite food ;D
Hmm, that's more than just a few songs, best I stop there before I go on to list everything as favorite. But all my other faves are feeling left out, they're jumping up and down in the back of my mind going, "Me! Me! Me!" It feels so unfair and wrong to leave any SK songs out and if I was to do this list tomorrow or even just later, it might well look quite different. Banana Chips, One Week, Su...

I haven't listened all of their songs, but here is my list so far:
1. It's a new find This song makes me feel happy, if i'm feeling sad or depressed. But this song also works when i am already in a good mood. And the music video is funny.
2. ESP Great melodies, nice guitar solo. Kind of psychedelic song and psychedelic video, which is nice too.
3. Pop Tune This song gives me pretty similar feelings that "It's a new find", because it is very positive and happy song. This song got me really hooked on the band. And i love the message of this song. "No need for anxiety, no need for politicians, all you need is pop!"
4. Psychedelic life Emi sounds so good, i love when she is singing. Psychedelic life is psychedelic song.
5. Riding on the rocket This was probably first song i heard from Shonen Knife. The part "Uka boo, uka boo, everybody uka boo" made me laugh when i heard it first time. Does it mean anything or is it just funny nonsense?

Does it mean anything or is it just funny nonsense? Uka boo means float. (and in the line "Ikou Ikou Everybody let's go" Ikou just means "let's go".)
