Yeah! I really did not see *that* coming! This is going to leave Brinky a little lopsided unless Mom can fill in...

Yup, that was pretty weird, the drummer of the #1 SK cover band is now the official SK drummer!!! On the one pic, it looks as if Naoko had triplets!!!!

Sadly, for the time being, hair duels will be missing at SK concerts!

UWAA, it's like one of those teeth-achingly unstudied high school prom portraits from the photo studio in the shopping mall. This is a really YOUNG person! Here is her current Twitter self: BRINKY RISA@majicjoe She chose a growly blues-rock title of Naoko's for a handle. Talk about being born and bred for a role! With the adorable directness of youth, she states, "From here on, I'm taking over for Emi-chan, I've become the drummer of Shonen Knife! Please treat me well!" Well... of course. You can count on me. It's sure to be that simple! Wherewith she posted photos of her induction ceremony. The golden sticks are arranged on, what, a bedspread? It's just so ridiculously precious. There's extra cuteness and celebration over at her Twitter user home. Especially this retweet: Death Voice 11/15 @ Saw Core Factory@66deathvoice66 Beginning as a tribute band out of admiration for Shonen Knife, stepping up to doing originals for the first time, growing up as expected to acclaim in Battles of the Bands, and now a dramatic initiation from an outgoing drummer! A [new] rock-star! Cheering for Risa-chan! I'm sure we all are!

Well, other than that crooked tooth, she is very pretty and, we know she can play SK songs as well as any former SK drummer, so, not a bad choice! I feel sort of badly for Brinky though, to lose their drummer (and sister!), just as they were finally recording their own songs and likely on their way to bigger, better things!

Crooked tooth is a beauty-mark. She's going to be pretty because of what she does with that face. I know, about Brinky — now *everybody* has to level up. It's not a family project anymore. But they still have their front-woman and their bassist/senior advisor, and they have a CD. A drummer is something they can get with effort, so I have hopes. Maybe they'll evolve into something new. I always wanted one of those three-eyed cat shirts...

Yup, the Brinky logo is great... despite the fact that I think they cribbed the idea from Blinky, the Simpson's nuclear fish! image upload no compression

That does look like an outright steal. Girls, what do you think we should call our band? I mean, if we ever play in front of people, we need a name, you know? But I'd proudly wear a Brinky shirt and probably pass on the mutant fish completely.
It just dawned on me what that father is going through about this time. Mixed emotions, do you suppose?
He just gave away his darling girl to be the bride of Rock'n'Roll. It's a little bit Agamemnon & Iphigenia, no matter how joyful you are personally and professionally.

How many Jojimans are out there? The one on Twitter is a huge Brinky supporter (shock, surprise, disbelief). He says he always thought Risa would make a great drummer for SK. Now, he says that. He remembers her from June 2012 at Osaka Pangea and/or in July at Shibuya O-nest. Armpit Risa tweet of @jojimanxShonen Knife's new drummer Risa came from Oita to see her first Knife live when she was in high school. Live video of that time was used in the PV for "Ghost Train." She's the girl who's in Naoko's armpit in the photo (laughs). Ghost Train PV on YouTubeEDIT 〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜Jojiman and Brinky are so tight, the band wrote and played a theme song for him at his 15th wedding anniversary last February. While he recorded their performance, like always. Jojiman 15th on YouTube
