Risa-san's drumming reminds me a lot of Animal, from "The Muppets". I didn't tell her that when I chatted with her during the last tour, because I feared she might think of it as insulting, even though it's not meant to be at all. It has nothing to do with how she looks; it's more about the general posture at the drum kit and the attack style of drumming and the high cute factor that they both share. I don't know that she would have understood what you meant, but if it ever comes up again you can show her these... Animal trying to get the better of Dave Grohl on The Muppets 2016 OCT 07, The Ritz, San Jose – Risa on the chorus of "Calabash"

"when I chatted with her during the last tour" How did you find her knowledge of English? Lazybone and I managed to talk with her a little before the Los Angeles show; she just sort of did the "smile and nod" routine from what I remember. I also spoke with her separate from that, and I'm sure glad I had my Japanese friend with me as the interpreter! Her eyes lit up when he jumped in to explain what I was trying to say. Maybe you had a better experience chatting with Risa?

I changed my nails 💅✨✨
They're so perfect, the whole job looks like appliqués. I guess now's the time, SK don't play again this month.

So, if she ever makes the band, she can translate for her sister!! haha

Yes, I know this is supposed to be a family-safe forum, and so I really shouldn't be posting a pic showing the back of a girl's neck - but Risa did it first and I can't stop thinking about it. at a friend's wedding

In a common cotton ring-neck T that'd just be vulgar, but in this context — it's art.

I always wonder how the Japanese can sit like that, without having the World's worst case of "My foot's asleep"!

I always wonder how the Japanese can sit like that, without having the World's worst case of "My foot's asleep"! Their lower legs do fall asleep, and their knees tend to ache if they have to sit seiza for a very long time. Sitting in a W like a girl gives you rotated hips and knock knees. Bowed legs, some insist. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2016 DEC 20 at Club GoodmanCute and powerful. It looks like a shattered baseball bat after a hit on the label. They went all over the country this year, but the final Shonen Knife live of the year was [ Club Goodman ] @ Akihabara. It might have been a weekday, I might have had to go to work wearing a suit… in spite of such reasons, tonight was a fun, fun live! I didn't win the prize drawing, but… I got a drum stick!!!Hammy band soaking up the applause

Bought some Jelly Belly jelly beans at the airport as omiyage for kids I would be visiting in Japan, and literally right next to them was a Muppets PEZ display. It seemed like fate. So, after the BEARS show... Risa-san was not offended at all. She liked it very much.

Considering how great Animal is on the drums, anybody should be pleased. If only the candies were that good. I can go through a whole stick of Pez in 5 minutes, just because I'm hoping the next one will taste better.
