Japanoise Movie page at facebook.com/japanoise.movieGuitar Wolf Shonen Knife the 5,6,7,8's Hijokaidan Ryuketsu Blizzard Zombie Lolita Barbariancherry Fuck on the Beach Tom and Bootboys Discocks Digraphia Hernia44 13th Moon Hat Trickers Fox Pill Cult Melt-Banana QP Crazy SaTaN Japanoise Movie Trailer: Shonen Knife - Interview and Live at Fever (Tokyo - Four-Leaf Clover Tour 2015Mar28): I definitely want to believe in this movie, but I don't think I've ever seen Naoko accommodated so badly in an interview. She looks like a child on a low stool being punished. So rude, absolutely unprofessional — like they have no idea what they are doing or couldn't care less. Then I visited the FB page for the usual hardcore rock subjects, well and good, and there among the timeline photos I found a death and gore shot of murdered children's corpses and the comment, qp crazy, kill and melt-banana are cunts. fake prima madonna motherfuckers can fuck themselvesI don't even want to show you that photo. Did the FB page get vandalized? Does the filmmaker not even know? Is this him being edgy? Is he OK with it? Horrendous fail. I can put Shonen Knife together with any underground act on some level, but that message and SK's message can't go into the same envelope.

Yes - strange is Shonen Knife included with too extreme groups. I think the filmmakers are just looking for guaranteed audience. They pulled in Guitar Wolf and the 5.6.7.8's, who could both be grandparents of some of the other bands. Hat Trickers and Melt-Banana were not exactly born yesterday. They're the punk/hardcore establishment. But they have 25 or 30 years of name recognition apiece.

You might be wondering, did this film begun in 2012 ever get finished? And the answer is, yes, it had a premiere in Tokyo at Shibuya UPLINK back in June of 2017, and Shonen Knife performance and interview clips from 2015 are included, and that's about as far as it goes. No idea what SK could do for this film's core audience, or vice-versa. Knowing what the filmmaker is like, if he decided to use them for contrast it wasn't necessarily a flattering one. If you look at who else is in the credits, it's not just punk bands, not just noisecore, not just goregrind, but some of the most flagrant examples of each. Guitar Wolf looks like Captain Sensible here. "Japanoise" Completion Commemoration ScreeningJune 10 (Sat) www.uplink.co.jp/event/2017/48239 We're holding a commemorative screening of the film Japanoise by the Mexican-American resident of Tokyo, Martin Brando Villarreal!
While "Japanoise" is a term commonly used to refer to Japanese noise music abroad, this film is not a documentary about the genre.
Over the course of three years, Director Villarreal went continually to all the live houses, interviewed the bands and recorded live footage.
It became a showcase-like movie introducing the current Tokyo live house scene from the viewpoint of one foreigner.
There will be two screenings, with an acoustic live performance by members of bands who appeared in this work after each show.
Recorded interviews: END OF POLLUTION | FUCK ON THE BEACH | SEIJI (GUITAR WOLF) | HAT TRICKERS | HERNIA 44 | HIJOKAIDAN | RYUKETSU BLIZZARD | SHONEN KNIFE | ZOMBIE LOLITA
Live video recordings: AMILIYAH | BARBARIANCHERRY | THE DIGITAL CITY | JUNKIES | DIGRAPHIA | DISCOCKS | GUITAR WOLF | HIJOKAIDAN | QP-CRAZY | SATAN | TOM AND BOOTBOYS | 13TH MOON and more
