I thought the time was well overdue for the forum to have a fix of Charan Po Rantan and their stuffed pink pig plushy. Charan Po RantanAs the few bits I've posted of them seem to be hiding in the Random Video section, it seems it must be thread time. So here's an old fave of mine, Here are a some fairly recent vids of theirs... A few words I lifted off the net about them... Here's one last vid for now where you can enjoy hearing the lovely Koharu rabbiting on about something... It wouldn't really be a proper post from me if I didn't include a gratuitous finger snap. Koharu's fingersWebsite (in Japanese) www.charanporantan.net/

These guys are so phenomenal it's a bit hard to take! After awhile, I'm kind of like, no more, no more energy, no more creativity, no more levity, no more wackiness, I give, I can't take it.
They've got their Russian circus act down cold. Must've gone to the same French klezmer academy as Haruna from No Cars.
This is what sense I can make of their band name:
ちゃらちゃら, chara-chara, is onomatopoeia for a clinking or jingle-jangle sound. Think coins, or an armload of bracelets. So by extension, it applies to carefree motor-mouth chatter, or flirty behavior.
A charako is a flighty, frivolous girl; charao is the fun-loving, irresponsible male version.
If you are or have charanporan, you just don't give a damn. Someone else can pick up the pieces, you are winging your way giddily through life like a shiny soap bubble. Charanporan people are just not interested in taking things seriously at all!
Tan has one million meanings. But the way they dotted their name says they don't want the tan to stand alone.
Charan・po・rantan is just syllables, really. Like if you did this: Metamor・pho・sisboom Rantan means "lantern" or nothing.
I think "charan po rattan" is somewhere between "rama-lama-ding-dong" and "la-di-da-di-da".

“Dear Ezaki Glico: imagine what we could do for your brand with proper monetary encouragement.” 🤝 11/11 is getting crowded. Singles Day in China, Bass Day in Japan, and now this.
