Wow... that second tune sounds like it's already a Vocaloid remix. This is interesting!

Here's a new vid from Budo Grape, for the song which Tan described as the "vocaloid remix". BUDO GRAPE - "Zankokuna Yasashisa" Why, you ask, is Minko-grape being such an evil little pest toward 74-grape? Illustrating the song's title, "Zankokuna Yasashisa", 残酷優しい. It means "Cruel Kindness/Tenderness". The snappy lyrics are elaborations on the theme. I'm putting a big note in the Japanese Language thread! Not here, thank god. 〰〰〰〰〰 EDIT 〰〰〰〰〰I will just say FYI that the band's name is a multi-lingual play on words. They like to write it, ぶどう÷グレープ (budou÷gurēpu). Grape is grape, but budou written that way (in the hiragana script) is ambiguous. 葡萄 [budou] means grape, or grapevine. So, "Grape÷Grape". 武道 [budou] means "warrior way" — the military and martial-arts practice derived from the samurai philosophy and code of chivalry. Also known as bushidou. So, "Warrior Way÷Grape", a silly, cartoon-y image with lots of fun appeal. Heavy borrowing from Western languages and compulsory language study in school means tons of opportunity for this kind of fooling around in Japanese.

One of the perils of being the shortest member of a Japanese band. When it's your turn to take centre stage for lead vocals you may have to perform while stood on top of a beer crate. Poor Green Grape, the band's previous keyboard player. This vid is part 3 of 6. At the end of part 2 of 6 you get to see the full indignity of her being passed a beer by Quminco.

It's not quite Booker T. & the MGs, but who knew they did Yellow Soul so well? Then the immediate segue into Disco Cheese. Tiny synth player Green Grape, turn down that later quacking please. The case carrier is totally practical, except that in addition to a low stage, this dive has an 8-foot ceiling. So it's actually practical to be a Munchkin!

Oh boy oh boy oh boy... It's just been announced that Budo Grape will be at the Doki Doki festival in Manchester, 12th November 2016. www.facebook.com/hashtag/dokidoki2016 Doki Doki is Manchester's Japanese Festival celebrating Japanese culture. And there'll be a fair few cosplayers there - and probably some Japanese maids. Budo Grape will also be playing other tour dates when they're over here, so I'm really looking forward to that. Yay! For all you cosplayers out there, Doki Doki festival tickets are available from www.tokyo15.co.uk/userimages/procart52.htm

CICCONE-FREE FORUM SINCE 2008 – 2,980+ DAYS At first I thought they were doing "Material Girl" which would be absolutely out of bounds. Then I realized this is a cover of "PRICE MAIDEN" so it's wonderful.

That looks like a great show! Good sound, too. Looking forward to more... Yes it was a great show, and their afternoon set was lots of fun too. Sorry but I've been somewhat distracted and haven't revisited my Budo Grape videos yet. But here's something recent filmed by Ranmaru on her iPhone, unfortunately it seems that its battery went flat on her. Nice iPhone. She's also got some other rather nice BG vids and I also really love this one with Taichi Grape on lead vocals. I'll try and get myself busy soon... ...ish.

Oh I'm so lazy. Or is it just that it often takes me ages to get it together to do stuff?
I've finally got it together to upload some Budo Grape at this year's Doki Doki festival. It is just their short afternoon set where BG did karaoke versions of a few of their songs. Old songs and new off their shiny new album. Camera work is not great, I was having difficulty with hands etc, but there was really good lighting conditions. Nice and bright instead of the usual gloomy pub or club conditions.
Enjoy Bunny Grape

Enjoy Bunny Grape Dokidoki KaraokeBunny is a velveteen Jerry Lee Lewis, but his (?) diving is just reckless. I wonder how long since they had played a basketball gymnasium? They managed to make something fun and appealing out of a 10-minute commercial. I see what you mean about the camera controls but the lighting was a dream, it looks awesome!
