Not all the pics from the dressing room at the St. Paul Civic Center made it to the Michael Ochs Archive. This is from a 2004 thread at the guitar forum on Harmony Central: The Furs (Japan) are Jamtastic!2008-10-01 Posted by fuzztonewww.harmonycentral.com/forum/forum/guitar/acapella-41/1191366- 1993 DEC 10, St. Paul Civic Center – In Utero tour badgesToward the bottom of the thread, with other interesting artifacts like the song list from a cassette dub of a live show from 1987 NOV 15 at Eggplant in Osaka: In various colors on a leaf from a tear-off wall calendar of cat pictures As the Internet explains: www.kt.rim.or.jp/~jojo_h/ar/egg_plant2010.html EGGPLANT REUNION 2010 – SHINSAIBASHI BIG CAT"EGGPLANT" is a legendary livehouse that operated in Osaka's Nishinari Ward from 1984 to 1989. Hijokaidan, OUTO, S.O.B., RAPES, Continental Kids, Auschwitz, Boredoms, Newest Model, Sekiri, Hanadensha, Omoide Hatoba, Shonen Knife, Modern Choki Chokies, etc. — it's no exaggeration to say that all the leading bands on the Kansai live scene that followed were incubated at Eggplant. [ Oh, yes it is so an exaggeration. ] In those days Eggplant fondly embraced hardcore and punk, even noise and junk bands that could not readily appear at other livehouses, and so produced unique artists one after another. With a rehearsal studio installed, Eggplant gave a great deal of support to band practices and meetings between members. Although it reluctantly closed in 1989, a Closing 10th Anniversary alumni show is being held in 1999 at 13 Fandango.1987 October – handmade Eggplant show scheduleWant to scream because there's a Shonen Knife gig tape from 1987 rotting in a grimy carton in the garage that it'll never get out of? Go right ahead, let's do a minor third together.

2009 July 07 – Kinako goes to 712 Day in Tokyo2009 JUL 07 by kinako6969 for the Kinako Adventure Book blog kinako6969.exblog.jp/11470041/ Immediately following their tour of Europe ☆ a triumphant homecoming show in Tokyo. They debuted a song live, the new song is hot, hot! Tension ↑ Photo in the dressing room with Shonen Knife drummer Ettchan (*^_^*) I metcha like you (lol)〜〜〜〜〜 Shonen Knife didn't really have loads to say about it. They were flattered to have JITTERIN' JINN open for them, they had two more 712 Day shows to do, Summer Sonic was coming in the first week of August, they'd uploaded almost nothing from their EU tour diaries yet, and they'd barely had time to unpack. We just got back on the 2nd — from the official gig blog. Ritsuko's not so tall, but she's a giant next to Etsuko. The next day's show at Quattro in Nagoya was an all-Kansai girl band spectacular with SCANDAL and Oreskaband guesting. JITTERIN' JINN who supported in Tokyo and Osaka are Kansai natives, too. It was Ettchan's birthday on the 11th — 712 Day Eve, as Ritsuko says. By her account, she turned 21 in 2009. From Etsuko 2009/07/08 (Wed) NAGOYA www.shonenknife.net/blog/archives/682 Birthday loot — Etsuko's photoThanks very much everybody who came to see us!!! Mori-Man mystery character TNOW UPDATED WITH EVEN MORE NON-ESSENTIAL INFOMORĪMAN is a man of mystery to Etsuko and Ritsuko. However, by the time Etsuko knows it, it's the badge of a delinquent biker boy in Japan, same as elsewhere. THAT PICTUREThe Young Knives in a park under a spray-bombed banner – Shonen Knife photoThe shot of Shonen Knife playing in a public park sometime in the first half of the 1980s is one of two or three you always see, because they're what the labels hand out. There's never any explanation. Does anyone even know where and when this was taken? It did turn up as the cover image on the J-card insert for the 1985 release of Burning Farm from K Records in the US, and from time to time ever since. We do find out that the photo has a credit line: ▲ 少年ナイフ pic by 木下聡 ▲ Shonen Knife pic by Satoshi Kinoshita But Satoshi hasn't left a huge footprint on the music web. He might be this guy: SATOSHI KINOSHITA PHOTOGRAPHS AUST.IImade-in-wonder.com/item_detail.php?device=pc&item_id=1974 Photographs of Australia by Satoshi Kinoshita (1959–). After studying in the US, Kinoshita went to Australia in 1986. An exhibition of his photography was held in 1988 at the Nikon Salon in Ginza. After that, he published in photographic magazines such as Asahi Camera. 〜〜〜〜〜 Even though it's next to a Shonen Knife photo, the magazine text is all about the largely forgotten doings of Heidinasch (top right corner in the magazine photos). They formed in 1979, focusing on live performance and releasing comparatively little up to 1985 when they appeared on a compilation called Le Bal de Fleur which apparently raised their profile. People say they were well known. They have a couple of cuts on this 8" compilation disc from R.B.F. Records in 1984: R.B.F. (1984)2017 MAY 07 by NokturnalDepression (23:50) V.A. R.B.F. (1984)

2018 FEB 10 Shonen Knife at Tokyo UFO with Otogivanashi
Shonen Knife & Otogivanashi, Tokyo UFO Club, the climactic finish! Everyone who came, thank you very much! Last night, thank you so much to all the many of you who came to the Shonen Knife & Otogivanashi 2-man live at Higashi Koenji U.F.O.CLUB! Last night was the first live Shonen Knife performance of 2018, it was a moving evening as if out of a dream, too much fun in the blink of an eye from beginning to end!!! Watasha , after all, I love Otogivanashi❣️ Charming Naru is joking around with Otogivanashi's name. It means "fairy tale" and she used watasha instead of watashi. It's an archaic way of saying "I" that you really only see in dialogue from characters in actual fairy tales. It was the greatest—When I decided to fulfill my dream of studying abroad in Liverpool, I heard that my host-sister liked rock and I made her an omiyage of a Shonen Knife CD. Today, after 20 years have passed, I witnessed a ferociously powerful Shonen Knife show. Distortion of spacetime. Pioneers who discovered the Beatles and Otis Reading, listened to them, and as their songs reached me decades after they left them to Eastern people, so they'll be delivered to someone in an unknown country several centuries later!
It's a band I can't help strongly, strongly wishing it for. The Shonen Knife show today~🎵 The most fun every time‼️ They were the greatest today, too (๑>∀<๑)♬+゜ Today I went to see the Shonen Knife and Otogivanashi 2-man show. It was the first time in about 7 months that I've seen Shonen Knife, but they were really cool! Shonen Knife is truly fun. I can feel the music from the heart and enjoy it wholeheartedly.
First time seeing Otovanashi, they were also cool!
It was nice to see my favorites Shonen Knife live. 😊 I've just been looking forward to Shonen Knife for the first time this year, and what's more for those who know, a battle of the bands with Otogivanashi.
"Beautiful people with beautiful voices who can shred, (the band) has been doing it a long time" from the MC (^^)
This year as well there's a 6-week spring tour of the UK. Absolutely a band to die for. 〜〜〜〜〜 Coming next on the return favors list: 25 March, again at BEARS, a record release party for The Pats Pats. twitter.com/passion_records/status/961555335608594434 🍬☀ news☀🍭 THE PATS PATS 2nd ALBUM "SING AND PRETTY" Released 3/7 (Wed)☆☆ Furthermore ★★ 3/25 (Sun) Osaka Namba BEARS w/ Shonen Knife

Long blog post on the UFO 2-man show with Otogivanashi From Naoko 2018/02/10 (Sat) 02/10 Tokyo, Koenji UFO CLUB www.shonenknife.net/blog/archives/27943 We had band practice in the studio around noon on the 9th. Afterwards Shonen Knives Naru-chan and Risa-chan rode to Tokyo the day before, in our van with our manager driving. Because of some personal business, I came into Tokyo on the 10th, the day of the show, on the Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka [ Station ].For some reason, emerald green was the tint of the day at UFO. With Team Papa Lion (L/R: Ba. Akane, Dr. Keiji, with Mami Saitou) – photo from Naoko's blogNaoko was traveling alone with no distractions, so she got into documenting everything. The encore of the show was a jam session between Shonen Knife and Otogivanashi. Similar in format to the December 2-man show with Inugayo, but sounding nothing alike because of the differences between the co-stars. They rode home together on Sunday after an overnight in the foreign city of Tokyo. It's all there with pictures.

Naru heats upShe posted her best blog entry ever. It was her first time in UFO, so she was stoked. Remember too that she's one of the hugest Otogivanashi fans on Earth or anywhere else. Where might I be now? Believe it or not, this is the toilet. Anyway it's red!
UFO's psychedelic apple on the bathroom wall advises, MAKE LOVE. Naru wants you to appreciate her Beatles '68 LADY MADONNA t-shirt. Her meal selections were based on convenience and comfort. Otogivanashi's regular photographer Kuniyoshi Taikou took photos of Shonen Knife during the encore (and afterward), which Naru thought was something special. You can see Naoko doing the MC/vocalist thing without her guitar on. There were plenty of guitar players as it was. If you haven't go check it out! 2018 FEB 23 • Osaka Umeda Shangri-La "OUT OF TIME ROCK!"Why not just read this in the original on Twitter? Because in 60–90 days the originals will still be there, probably, but you might not be able to browse your way to them any more. Happy rockstars – triumphant @shonenknife_Mgr photoShonen Knife, appearing tonight with The 50 Kaitenz, XERO FICTION, Otoboke Beaver in "OUT OF TIME ROCK!" at Osaka Shangri-La! Same day tickets sold after entry. So everybody, on Friday night let's get up for it in a great mood!Inventory of Rock 'n' Roll T-ShirtsGuitar player: CJ Ramone Japan Tour 2012 (peer support) Bass player: Small Faces mid–'60s retro ad art (nostalgia) Drummer: Otoboke Beaver 2016 UK Tour (peer support) This band is actually getting better and better. Jointly and severally. I think Risa is feeding them rocket fuel. Just look at them. Speaking of which: www.instagram.com/p/BflQ_w5lkR0/Today at Umeda Shangri-La! My first Otoboke Beaver! It was mechamecha good! I love that busy drummer! The new song "anata watashi daita ato yome no meshi" released today lingers in the ears too much! Sex-addicted rock 'n' roll!! Shonen Knife's first Osaka show this year! They played "Twist Barbie", "E.S.P"!I can't contain my thoughts about tonight's live any longer. Especially since I could see Otoboke Beaver and Shonen Knife both at once… it was ultra-miracle super-premium Friday night! Amazing photos. Tonight's Knife live was long overdue. Eeek! Eeek! Naoko made her appearance with her well-loved Flying V. Though their time was rather short, the winds were raging. A tight and smartly toned performance, as they ran through it without a break. Extremely cool, it was great. At the end, due to Naru-chan's absence I didn't get her in the picture. Regrets. KIM ( @kimkim_4003) covered 3 of 4 sets for you: Yesterday 's Otoboke Beaver!! Of course I heard the name often, but I finally saw them!! Insanely fun!! It did not happen yesterday, but a band that is a likely source of moshing. Cool, I liked them (^-^). The bands I want to see increased by one more (^^;. Next time I want to challenge myself to be more prepared!Yesterday's Shonen Knife!! It was fun to the extreme!! That's to say, everyone seemed to be in perfect form!! Banana Chips to begin, it was a fun setlist: Sushi Bar, Barbie, Buttercup, Pyramid, Baka Gai etc. etc. (^-^)!!
Speaking of which, Risa's rolls on the snare during Buttercup are so pleasing, I love them (^O^). Oh 〜it was fun〜 \(^▽^)/Yesterday's 50 Kaitenz!! A long time since I saw them〜!! Cool, as expected!! Danny's scratching is really unconditionally miraculous, I love it!! Dory was leaping and Bogey was matter-of-fact. Moving around so much, singing and playing with no mistakes, every time I see them I'm impressed. There were plenty of songs I didn't know, but I was satisfied because I could hear my favorite songs too!!Naru through the safety glass OUT OF TIME ROCK! @ Umeda Shangri-La I went to this yesterday. Otoboke Beaver really good. The supple movements of the vocals are very cool. Already hardcore with the first shout of "anata watashi daita nochi yome no meshi". I thought it was HATEBREED.
"So let's do it in exactly the same configuration at the Coachella Festival"💘💘💘💘 from Otoboke Beaver (no photo enlargement) I saw the "OUT OF TIME ROCK!" event at Umeda Shangri-La tonight. Of course I had my sights set on Shonen Knife. This time I enjoyed familiar songs that can be called classics, they cleared away all melancholy and gloom. Thanks, everybody!
