Hello Shonen Knife freaks fans! Cannibal Papaya here. I'm from Brazil, where SK seem to have only few fans, actually few people that even know them Like many fans I got to know them by Kurt Cobain's top 50 album list, but I soon realized how amazing they were on their own and wondered how I never heard about this band. The first song I heard from them was Redd Kross I guess, and then the next was probably A Day Of The Factory. I started then to slowly download their albums right from the beginning (Minna Tanoshikku demo tape) to absorb them properly when I realized I stumbled upon an amazing band. I'd like to thank shoknifeman who showed me this forum, it's really hard to find fans of them to actually discuss about the band. Apart from Shonen Knife, I love 77's punk and proto punk, like the Ramones, The Boys, Buzzcocks, Dead Boys, Johnny Thunders, The Stooges... and some other stuff like My Bloody Valentine (couldn't believe when I read that Shonen Knife were going to make a cover of them), Forgotten Boys (a brazilian band), Ladytron, The Pandoras, Supergrass, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Muffs, The Archies... lots of stuff, good rock'n'roll music in general, in many forms. TL;DR: Nice to meet you all!

It's not just Brazil... I live in the US, and I've never met anyone in person who has heard of Shonen Knife. I found out about them through a punk radio show; they played the SK cover of the Ramones' "Pinhead" and I decided to look into them. I love this forum because I can actually talk to people about SK - people who actually know and love them! Welcome and have fun!

Oh wait! Yes, I remember now! I was buying 712 at a used CD store and the cashier said "That's a good album"! I couldn't believe it!
