Today is Canada day, on July 1rst 1867, Canada got it's own constitution (We decided it would be a good idea to get together, what with the USA having recently won the US Civil War & now thousands of soldiers had nothing to do.....) . This is a song for the day by Canada's troubador, Stompin' Tom Connors! www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJeBTzL89AE

If it's cold and dark outside and the rain is lashing against the window and you fancy a bit of harmless fun, you could do worse that chase these cute Japanese girls and an accordion round the Internet. Here's Japanese Girls Unit "Charan Po Rantan" in a video, I've no idea what they're singing about as I don't speak Japanese. The only words I understood were, "number 1". But I may well be mistaken. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mk01qCEcLbwOr if you prefer here's them doing the same song live, but the first half of the clip is the accordion player rabbiting on about something. No idea what, but she sounds as sweet as she looks. But boy oh boy, I'd hate to get nagged by her. Although... www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&list=ULdy8Ujb6u3rQ&v=eNyeRn23OqAThere's loads of other clips of them performing out and about, here's a clip of them doing Doris Day, www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBLlfOfsqns&feature=endscreen&NR=1The info under this clip gives loads of info for netting them. ;D Yeh, I know that I'm going on a bit, but I'll stop after this one. Its a bit more trad. Watch out for the bloke on his big brass umpah getting totally carried away (rather like me just now) when he does his solo. www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1lJkbdqOOEThe rest of the band are all looking at each other in a "What's going on? Why won't he hurry up and stop." sort of way. Tired of standing at the back with a ton of brass, he wants his moment in the spotlight. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but they make me giggle. ps Whoops, forgot a pic...
