Tokyo on the evening of Yukutoshi-Kurutoshi ♪ Shibuya and the countdown at the Shibuya 109 intersection! From all over the world, people gathered and got excited! Thanks everyone for your support in 2017!Let's have a good time together in 2018!Shibuya-kei block party! Yukutoshi-Kurutoshi is literally "a year goes a year comes". Out with the old, in with the new. Also the title of an annual New Year's Eve program on NHK, immediately following the Red & White Music battle. It's a mix of New Year's countdowns, religious observances, and images of celebration from around the world with commentary on what the old year brought and the new year may hold in store. Here's a clip from last year, starting with ringing a temple bell and proceeding straight to the countdown, fireworks, standing in crowds, dixieland jazz, and queuing up for the first shrine visit of the year, to pick up your paper fortune for 2018. ゆく年くる年 (Yukutoshi-Kurutoshi) 2016~20172017 JAN 13 by 青柳マリリーン (08:43) This year again, we wish you may spend the time in tranquility.
