712 Song Review- [glow=red,2,300]BAGGS[/glow]
My second fave song on the album; despite the fact that I have no interest in collecting women's designer bags! (hehe) The song starts out with an almost sexual adaptation of Inuit throat singing and literally comes to a climax before the actual lyrics begin (You have to HEAR it to "get" it). Then goes on to name a bunch of Naoko's fave designers, while the other girls keep repeating the name of her favorite, Louis Vitton! A great little song....even if you don't collect $5000 bags!

[glow=red,2,300]Bonus tracks:[/glow]
The CD ends with live versions of Lazybone & Blue Oyster Cult ; a fine finish to an EXCELLENT album! Mikey

712 is great. I managed by accident to find a copy of the original 1991 release in a "recycle shop" in Japan, still in really good condition, 'spine card' still intact and everything. One of the highlights of my collection!

Actually I was working there for a year teaching English, in a fairly small rural town, with the nearest big city about 1 1/2 hours away. I have been back to Japan once since then and got to do more travelling. I missed out on seeing SK live in their home town by a mere 22 days...

I missed them by an hour and the flu once~! Hope you can see them live then! I actually wasn't feeling too well when I saw them either, I had a bit of a cold. I should have borrowed Etsuko's breathing-mask thingy.

She didn't wear it during the show, I hope? Haha, no she didn't, but I hope it wasn't a sign that the pollution here is getting worse...even for someone from Osaka...

Oh yeah, here's something amusing...I don't know about the original releases of Burning, Attchan & Baka Guy, but on the original Japanese version of 712, Naoko is credited as "Nanshii Yamano" (Nancy Yamano)! While the others' names are written in kanji, surname first (Nakatani Michie etc), Nanshii's name is written in Western order with surname last.
I'm guessing this doesn't happen on the Oglio Records re-release...
I don't know why Naoko decided to change her name for this album. Mikey, should we give a prize to the first person who figures it out? ;D

Oh well...

Oh well... I mean she wanted to stand out in Japan, by using a western name..... like Miyoshi Umeki who called also herself Nancy (Umeki) on her early albums; but generally used her real name when she moved to the USA. (Or, possibly, Naoko used the name Nancy as a tribute to Miyoshi <Unlikely, but, not impossible)
