July record release! It looks like Reina and The Blue Valentines is officially two people at most now. One, really — it's a project of Reina Nosa (野佐怜奈), who got started in 2012 with producer Keitaro Takanami of Pizzicato Five, as I read. Nozomi Ozawa is still playing bass, guitarist Tomoka Kikuchi sat in on the new album and will play the release party, but they're hired hands, same as songwriting partner Igaru and the drummer. "Brimming with the feeling of refreshment, classical poetic sentiment is the motto." I'd call them '90's Shibuya soul with a sweet singing voice and a colder, faster '80s feel.
