Philosopher Yuzuru
If you're a musician, follow sound. So I listen to Western music, Japanese music, ethnic music, anything. Rock, pop, classical or jazz.
I don't know what it means for a bandman or a musician to say I only listen to Japanese music, or I only listen Western music.
I think, what is music as far as you're concerned?
– Yuzuru (g)
As far as I'm concerned? Oh, J-rock mostly. Why?

THE MOLICE — SIGNS — REVIEW — 2018 FEB 22 by ChrisN for JaME World THE MOLICE add a pop shine to their alternative edge. www.jame-world.com/us/articles-128938-the-molice-signs.html ...THE MOLICE have remained faithful to their sparse and spiky 80s new wave sound though, influenced by the likes of Pixies and The Police.
Most bands enter [ major label ] deals for international distribution purposes, but THE MOLICE have taken the opportunity to get much more heavily involved on the creative end with their US label. The band recorded SIGNS, as well as their previous EP 5, at the label’s studio in Buffalo rather than at home in Japan… Appreciative review referred by Good Charamel. No fewer than four mentions of the Pixies. If the author meant that indie artists in Japan are typically getting distribution deals with majors in the US, I don't think that can be true. It's not even the case for some Japanese acts signed to Japanese majors that are actually based in the US, as with Sony Music Entertainment for example. Want your copy of Honey from Scandal when it releases tomorrow? Fine, but if you live in America your CD will be an import.
