From Facebook: Our support drummer, Paro decided to join MOLICE as regular member. MOLICE will play and make more powerful and fantastic music. We hope you will enjoy our music! Thank you for all your support to MOLICE. Molice Music, that is. Support of drummers cutlet moto Hiro Humikane clan, From April 2016, as a member of molice Officially decided to join. Power than the original music will be. Nice to meet you, please! Statistical algorithmical translatification lol. The Japanese says practically the same thing, but with much more Japa-nicety Notice: Drummer Hirofumi Katsumoto (Paro) joins officially
To give sustenance to the music of MOLICE, support drummer Hiroshi Katsumoto decided to join MOLICE formally as a regular member as of April 2016. We'll continue delivering original, more powerful music. Best regards from all of us! 〜〜〜 You should look at that in the context of the super-sober New Year's philosophical statement on the homepage in "About MOLICE 2016" written three months ago. themolice.com/about.html----------------------------------------------------- MOLICE
Rinko (Vo & Rhythm Guitar) Yuzuru Takeda (Guitar) Hirofumi Katsumoto (Drums) ----------------------------------------------------- 2016 has begun. Last year was a year of major changes. They happened one after another, unpredicted; in the midst of that, we recorded new work. The best environment turned out to be America, we were free to play as we believe, We could record a music of our own. This year at last, we can deliver the sound to you.
The future is found in the extension of the present. In the extension of the major changes last year, can be found the shape of MOLICE's music in 2016. We're really looking forward to it. We're extremely thrilled.
The state of music has been changing rapidly, and day-to-day listening along with it. CDs, records, delivery, streaming, live shows... we've been flooded with various opinions and ideas
What form would be the correct answer? If I don't know the answer, I probably won't get it anytime soon. We may have to go by trial and error. While looking steadily at the ambiguities, glancing sideways at the difficulties, We create new music from a place of joyfulness every day. We're playing music joyfully.
For us on the side of creating music, the change in the world surrounding music Is a difficult situation, and the difficulty will be even greater. But, our feeling for music never weakens. Our feelings overflow from within ourselves, and accordingly we make music. We have to play. There's no playing music outside of the situation and the environment and the circumstances.
And overflowing with music from within ourselves, The ongoing work to explore the points of contact with the outside world will continue this year. It will never be finished. Just as it continues to give us joy and discord, Becoming a further stimulus, we of MOLICE will continue giving rise to new music.
2016, too, will be full of great music all over the world!
2016.1.2 Yuzuru Takeda〜〜〜〜〜 Yuzuru repeats the statement in his personal blog, entitled "MOLICE Senki Ⅱ – A Record of MOLICE BATTLE". That's humorous, because it's a takeoff of the epic Japanese sword and sorcery fantasy franchise, usually seen in English as Record of Lodoss War. He uses the exact same word, 戦記, senki, which is literally a military chronicle or campaign history. Parn and Deedlit have no idea that Wagnard is scheming to replace their vintage Marshalls with cheap digital synths.I really like Yuzuru, he's not only into valve amplifiers from the '60s and '70s, his leading inspirations are Fugazi, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Velvet Underground. \M/ 〜〜〜〜〜 MOLICE are offering their goods in their own online webstorefor $15 per physical CD, $20 for a T-shirt. Delivery outside of Japan is $10. The same four albums are in their store on Bandcamp for $10 or any extra you feel like paying, along with two singles from Rinko. And the best deal going is at Good Charamel for CDs and shirts from $9.99 USD per disc up to $70.00 for a four-album + shirt bundle. So, it's not like they aren't trying to get on top of this commerce thing. Also on American iTunes and at Amazon.com, although why you'd pay $10 for compressed music when Bandcamp has FLAC files is something I don't know. Three out of four albums show up on Spotify.

New album and all that goes with that. Molice "5" is out in the US on Good Charamel as of the 11th. Also on the iTunes store. No word about streaming services. There's a live Ustream record release video event from Noah Sound in Tokyo, on the same day at 11pm Japan time. That's 7am Pacific, and some other inconvenient hour where you are. But it's Saturday. No program preview yet. 〜〜〜〜〜 They finally got sick of people asking what the name is all about. It's (POLICE - PO) + MO, because "Mo." goodcharamel.com/molice.html

Well, earlybirds, Kichijoji Sound Studio has canceled the Ustream for Molice 5 with less than 8 hours to go. No reason given. However, Molice 5 is on Spotify in the US. open.spotify.com/album/59BI637WvujiPDjPKaNFRbIt's good! Not the bare-bones, Velvet Undergroundy arrangements you may be used to, a brighter, poppier, fuller sound than some earlier things. Beautiful vocal harmonies (Rinko double-tracking herself). Bouncy guitar parts with emphatic drum pounding. Kind of a fat sound with a lot of low-mids. Many little arranging decorations and effects like trem and reverb. It's still them, so it's left of center. I don't recall anything this ambitious from them before. Last cut is a cover of "Bring On The Night" by the Po+(Molice-Mo) with not a hint of reggae. In fact, it sounds more like a toned-down rock track from Quadrophenia, with synth strings and cymbal swells.

So, reading between the tweets, it would seem that the Ustream kickoff concert for "5" happened after all, but not on the original channel. They moved it to an associated education channel, and let everyone know a few moments before showtime. I thought you sent notification to the subscribers. What? We notify subscribers? When you're releasing your next album, be sure to remember not to do it like that. I don't think this show will be available at Ustream in future but you never know. Meanwhile, MOLICE "5"2016 JUN 10 by THE MOLICE (04:06) MOLICE no.15 Music Video! MOLICE 第15弾 MV 5th アルバム『FIVE』より。

Lots of shimmying, bumping, and napping in this making-of video from Robbie Takac's Buffalo recording studio. Japanese people are so impressed with themselves when anything is "overseas". The tune is the title track, "5". "5" in English, and "FIVE" in Japanese, so you'll realize it's an English-language title and not try to pronounce it as "Go" or something. InGrooves has custody of this release — presumably through Good Charamel, 'cause that's how they operate.
That's should be good for MOLICE since it means they get pays for plays. But chances are that Spotify is better for them if you're choosing between streams.
I like to stream songs I own — because double benefit, them and me.

Poor Rinko looks like she has to stand in that corner because she's been bad. Which might not be far wrong. Their web shop is more interesting than most. For one thing, they accept PayPal and ship worldwide. S&H is $20USD, which sounds like a lot, but it's reasonable. Especially if you buy a bunch at once. This is a lot of work and some expense to set up, so I hope they move some merch. themolice.com/shop.htmlThe deal sweetener is, they'll drop you an autographed postcard into the package. And they say they will autograph anything they sell, actually. That's getting really attractive for the fan. Their shirts are quite cool at $20 a pop. Albums are $15 on CD. You state your requirements with an email to moliceshop@themolice.com Now they're competing with themselves at Bandcamp, and all their other distro channels including Good Charamel. GC does not seem to be in a hurry to do a physical CD release, or they're keeping awfully quiet about it. 〜〜〜〜〜 SparkPlugged was very nice to Molice when it reviewed Molice 5.sparkplugged.net/2016/05/molice-5-album-review/
