I'm curious about what other members enjoy in addition to Shonen Knife. Post about it here!

My first favorite band was Green Day. They were my gateway into punk when I was about 12 years old. Next came the Ramones, the Offspring, and Bad Religion. I like old school punk and 90s punk.

Well, i'm less a fan of bands than singers or maybe the songs themselves; basically, I mainly enjoy music that's older than I am:
[glow=red,2,300]Classical [/glow](Beethoven and Mozart mainly) [glow=red,2,300]1920s-1940s Big Band Jazz [/glow]< Glenn Miller, The Andrews sisters, Judy Garland & Bing Crosby; mainly [glow=red,2,300]regular Jazz[/glow] (but not experimental) [glow=red,2,300]40-50s Rhythym and blues/Delta Blues[/glow] [glow=red,2,300]50s-60s rock[/glow] (Rockabilly in Particular) Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Burnette & The Beatles
Of course, when it comes to NEW music, I choose [glow=red,2,300]J-girl Punk/rock [/glow] Shonen Knife (#1), The Milkees, Puffy and tons of "anime music"
Today's domestic music , be it rock or country leaves me cold and wanting a set of earplugs

I like kind of a wide variety of music. I love listening to music and discovering bands! I often find myself getting into a few bands every month, that I haven't heard before. My favorite genres of music include indie, alternative, experimental, punk, garage rock, a bit of electronic music, and some stuff that mixes these genres. A lot of music I listen to is definitely weird for most people. Like Deerhoof, The Flaming Lips, Melt-Banana, Aphex Twin, Ni-Hao!, Optiganally Yours, and lots more. The "normal" music I listen to includes Tokyo Police Club The White Stripes / Jack White The Shins The Beatles The Pack A.D. The Apples in stereo I could list at least a hundred more, but don't feel like it, haha I think my first favorite band was No Doubt, I started liking them around 5 years old

Spookey, The Milkees, 5,6,7,8s, Keihan Girl, Ni Hao, The Portugal Japan, Denki Candy, Tsushimamire, Bo Peep, Red Bacteria Vacuum, Mikabomb, The Hard Nips, Super Junky Monkey, pretty much your usual suspects!! Away from the world of J Rock I like, in no particular order, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, The Buzzcocks, The Jam, The Undertones, pre Midge Ure Ultravox!, The Clash, Big Star/Chris Bell, Buddy Holly, Hank Williams, Nick Drake, Jill Sobule, Hamell on Trial, Nirvana, Mudhoney, Thea Gilmore, Bruce Springsteen, pre 1980s David Bowie, Alice In Chains and Elliott Smith. 'From a Basement on a Hill' by Elliott Smith one of my favourite albums, when it came out I listened to it at least once a day for a year, incredibly dark but well worth checking out. When I was a teenager to say I was a fan of Elvis Costello would be a gross understatement, I worshipped Costello, still a massive fan, I had hoped to catch his London concert last May but real life got in the way. True story - last year coming out of the tube station at Piccadilly Circus I saw Glen Mattlock, I couldn't believe it, and he noticed me looking at him and gave me a kind of 'why are you looking at me' look and we both went our separate ways. Wish now I'd had the courage to say Hello to him.

I'm going to see The Offspring live next week! And my favorite band Heideroosjes(go see them on Youtube, they rule!) are the support act, it's going to be epic!

I'll make a list later maybe....but you can wake me up in the middle of the night for this song ( by the man himself, not the lame knock-offs)..heck, if I were in a coma , all you'd have to do is put this on and crank it up "to eleven" and I'd be jumpin' up before you could even say: WTF !? ;D Paul Pena - Gonna Move

I recently got into the Descendents. I think Milo Goes to College is a masterpiece - definitely one of my favorite punk albums of all time! I can't get over how great it is. I'm disappointed that these guys don't tour very much, and I hope that I can see them live at some point in my life before they're gone for good. Every band I like started in the early '90s or earlier...so in 10-20 years I'm not going to have any more concerts to go to!
