Aaaaaaah, turquoise is not normal — for the Rick, at least. What did they do, respray them both at once?

If it has an engine and wheels it's a car, so here's an amazing engine and a whole lot of cars... http://instagr.am/p/BVk32eqnkWV Nice to meet you 5032m, I just happened to go to take snapshots of the Mizukaze, you know? It's incredible. http://instagr.am/p/BVnaplNnQQC Haha, TSUBA96 @tsubame_no_su would have mortgaged the farm to follow this train around. The Mizukaze or Twilight Express is a luxury cruise service of West Japan Rail's coastal San-in Main Line that just debuted on the 17th. 瑞風 is literally "fresh/youthful wind/breeze". Marketing. Deliberately nostalgic for the great age of rail travel. Advertised as a rolling vacation and a great option for eligible singles in search of same. You have to be not only well-heeled but lucky. Berths are available by lottery. I think I remember reading somewhere that round-trip cruise fares start in the range of 700,000 yen. Anyway, they priced it like a luxury cruise package, which it actually is. On rails. Every train photographer on earth is like !!!!!www.imgrum.org/tag/瑞風試運転 JR's Mizukaze HP with video (JP) twilightexpress-mizukaze.jp/

Great (if evil) looking train!! <3 The design of the train, excluding interiors and furnishings, is by super-senior transportation designer Prof. Tetsuo Fukuda, who did the 700 Series Shinkansen. It looks to me like the engine is referring to samurai armor and giant carp, both. That sweeping grille is functional. It lets you safely step out of the trailing engine for sunshine and fresh air, like standing on the afterdeck of an ocean liner (but small). The picture windows are big enough for storefronts. It must be like being at home in the manor house, looking through glass at your conservatory, only the scenery scrolling by is some of the choicest bits of of coastline and countryside between Osaka and Yamaguchi. The grand tour is 3 days and 2 nights, with stops at deluxe destination sites. Wikipedia says the service is a re-launch of a sleeper train that operated from the mid-1980s to 2015.

Hard to believe that somebody didn't add the roof to the fire chief's ride with a cutting torch. I found this bit of hearsay: Buckeye 53 Guest

E. H. Stokes FC Ocean Grove, NJ 1939 Ahrens - Fox HT 1000 gpm # 3447 Thanks to wf33ret & Box 2565 for the info! John Malecky Photo/John Denney Collection
The poster had nothing on the chassis or body. Evidently a pumper, since it got a gpm rating. If they were going to chop it, they should have lowered it, tinted the glass and put on skirts.

Compared to that bulbous fastback in the background, such a sleek little animal. Conflicted, though. Leather bonnet straps... on a streamline? An interior you can't see out of, and have to be levered into and out of... on a touring car?

Late-'80s turbocharged 1.4-liter Renault 5 GT Turbo "Supercinq" cross-country racing.
No details. Except, morons on the course trying to get a look or a photo at the risk of everyone's lives… and, I'm in a sweat just watching these guys drive.
The flaming backfires are a cinematic touch.
