What were they thinking with those costumes? Strawberrys! Sheepishly muttered to the girl in the purple bra, "Excuse me my dear, it looks like your breasts are somewhat out of whack. Its very distracting from your dance routine and I think they need adjusting..."

Antibodies Collective putting on an outdoor show as part of their Wakusei Tomonarisouchi (Planet Resonance Apparatus) installation at the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum. The nightmarish great horned beast rig seems to be used for a lawn ornament when no one's driving. The nighttime shows must be the absolute best, but on a warm, sunny afternoon you have the costumes that blow tapwater out of various nozzles. KOM_I from Wednesday Campanella (madayarou) made the scene, of course. http://instagr.am/p/BLBQ1a1AMfo http://instagr.am/p/BLBQGZ0jeyn http://instagr.am/p/BLA6AzZB1Ms http://instagr.am/p/BLA5z9ThYX9 Antibodies, antibo, is a Japanese performing artists collective with a massive mission statement; but their main goal is to inject their more imaginative reality into your everyday one. Reason No. Eleventy Eleven Battlefield mêlée, girls with katanas!
[ EKU Choreographed swordfight ] Here 'tis. #TaneyaIchi #Master #VictoryInBattle and #DefeatInBattle
Like a boss, the ponytailed fighter in the black coat and trousers skewers her careless opponent and is gorgeously cut down in the next pass.
Twitter says, "Scheduled to rampage in the streets [ last ] March." Must have been fun.

From the diary of zombie idol Aoki Akari (AKARI)yaplog.jp/benijake148/archive/14740
AKARI got a bit part in a 2015 made-for-TV horror/comedy action flick from the director of Audition. The cast party must have been greatThey needed an undead Yakuza nurse. OK, now I'm a nurse. Drinking and doing the extras commentary, possibly the best partThe Great Railroad War (Blu-ray, November 2015) ★★ "Truly incoherent." ★ "This is not a movie!" A chivalrous-yakuza action comedy starring Hayato Ichihara. Inheriting the blood of Yakuza boss Kamiura, Kageyama becomes a Yakuza vampire with sensitive skin… and that's only the beginning of the trouble. ★ Takashi Miike, director — in a return to form! ★ Hayato Ichihara co-starring with a deluxe cast! ★ Exhibited at the Cannes Film Festival Directors' Week, first time in 12 years! ★ Yakuza + vampires + action = unprecedented entertainment!

Well... not that there's no one in Japan who likes Smug Wendy, but this is a phenomenon in English-speaking countries that follow the company's US Twitter feed. Xephonia is from Singapore. Ozumii Wizard's in the Philippines. Wendy-chan is derivative fan-art, not corporate. The versions on Pixiv are 50% Japanese, 80% porn, and mostly none too good. 〜〜〜 The Wendy character isn't hyped in JP as much as you'd think. She's there, but it's the usual retro-looking Wendy familiar from advertising in the US and Canada. When they interpret, they make her look more like a real Caucasian girl, maybe because that's what people are more interested in. Wendy's is foreign food to them. 〜〜〜 Deviant Art members and cosplayers looking for a bandwagon picked up on this after the always snippy Wendys' Twitter voice started actively baiting competitors and anybody who wanted to argue with it. Like Jack from Jack In The Box, only funny.

Their niche is supposed to be assembly-line fast food that's more like home cooking. You can definitely be that, and still suck totally. When I ate meat, I avoided them. The thing I wonder about is: why does Japan prize all the things about US culture that I think are actually the worst? It's a great day when Shonen Knife can indulge Naoko's love of Golden Corral. Anybody who's eaten very much in those knows Hell has a buffet circle that Dante was afraid to write about.
