Iffy end to a short eraHow about let's relax our standards for a minute
PĪSU — also, SŌRĪ The new, improved (?) THE LET'S GO's Mk III debut in a couple of days.
Nervously looking forward to that. TLG was a girl-band in concept, from
months before the founders even met in person, and now Coco has
a couple of strapping boys in tow. It's going to be different.
No more Girls Together Only, although Coco never retreats.

2 too-beautiful people 😭✨
Shauna and Ai-chan ❤️
The twins connection seems
to be coincidental (hard to believe, but under their biker jackets they're wearing
the same T-shirt) 😳
they even look alike 🤔
#beautygirls #jealousy #metooimthesamewoman #whatthe?Shauna's from LA, on tour in Japan with
the Black Mambas... which is a boy band.
Ai-chan, not so much I guess. It's trans-oceanic convergent evolution.

The unsharable video shareSo, around 14 months ago, I shot this video on the last evening
of the one and only US road trip by THE LET'S GO's.
AND I PROMISED NOT TO SHARE IT ON YOUTUBESo, I switched its access level back to private again. If you want
to get a look, just let me know and I can open it up again.

It was an awful little booking, to finish a one-week tour of a coupla thousand
miles that saw them playing one set in the basement of somebody's
(hopefully luxurious) home.
I'm sure the idea was: we have a day to spend and nothing came together in LA,
so what's to lose? It's better than rattling around town and ending up drunk in front
of a TV. If we stay in Oakland, we save 50,000 yen for a hotel room.
Sticking around did gain them a lunchtime session with PressureDrop TV,
which is the monument to that tour.
The evening show wasn't quite so auspicious.
High school bands have a better level of support. But THE LET'S GO's is not a
high school band, so it was a bit thrilling in spite of the ancient and unloved
little mic mixer being hopelessly borked.
Mii's comment the day after was, "On the last day at VAMP, in the latter half
the microphones blew, and we played almost in an acoustic situation.
Because of the way it concluded, I'm not feeling burned out."

So, my video was messed up because the sound was messed up, and also the
proprietor kept running in front of the camera fruitlessly trying to fix the sound.
I felt like I had some fairly rare footage anyway, so I tried making a casserole
out of scraps. I invited the band to bless it, because it's the stand-up thing to do,
and Coco was not solid but still OK about it.
The other two were like,
NO that is not the image we want to promote.
My argument was, it was a mess but a charming mess and it can't possibly hurt.
They didn't buy it.
Thank you for not sharingNow, nothing stopped Kizuna Media from posting unedited phone video of
the same show. It's in the eternal global public record anyway, and that's that.
So was is another angle of view. A last look at a great group not-greatly situated
in a tiny second-hand shop with about 50 die-hard American followers.
