Link to the last No Cars gig, more good stuff to enjoy!!!! And yeah, it was an actual consecrated church, so I was worried that as soon as I stepped inside I'd be struck down by lightening and burst into flames. I'm not the anti-Christ but I am a very naughty boy...... www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DgfNUmXpik

Cool vid, thanks for the upload. Now we got to hear "Hungry" done right this time. youtu.be/1DgfNUmXpik?t=9m58s Yep, still good. But Tomoko wasn't quite so angry this time. She'd eaten some cress at the start of their set.

Cress = Watercress! Wiki says, I used to love picking it from the local streams when I was a kid. Apparently it is really good for you. But I hadn't realised until now that it is related to wasabi - perhaps that is why Tomoko likes it so much. Occasionally she has to resort to eating mustard cress which probably makes her extra grumpy.

I see it's not grown in North America, I guess that's why I had no idea... other than I've heard you Brits eat that in a sandwich.... somehow, I can't see why anyone would put that between 2 slices of bread! 0.o

I've heard you Brits eat that in a sandwich.... 0.o Cress often gets used with other things in sandwiches, but not always, and it's not just Brits who eat it. If its a related to wasabi, then it is no wonder that Tomoko likes it. She eats it straight out of the bag when munching it on stage. It is a seasonal crop, but with hydroponic growing methods it is now available for a much wider season. My mum grows watercress in a slightly shady part of her greenhouse. She grows it in a big bowl of water. If you have ever eaten a sandwich ( or salad ) with some lambs lettuce ( a.k.a. corn salad, or mache ), then that's vaguely reminiscent of watercress and should give you some slight shadow of idea as to what cress is about. Make sure you cut the crusts off the sandwiches. Especially if you are expecting guests, or suffer the social indignity of being caught with crust ridden sandwiches. How uncouth! That sort of shame can never be lived down and the stigma of it has often driven people to hide themselves away in far-flung corners of the world. I understand this is what led to the founding of English settlements on many continents. Edmund Hillary, climbed Everest, not so that he could be the first person to scale that peak, not even "Because it was there". It was to try and distract people from the fact that he'd been caught eating sandwiches with the crusts still on them! Oh, and apparently watercress soup is rather nice.

Are you a vegetarian? To me, a sandwich needs 4 things: meat, lettuce, mayo to hold it all together and bread so you can eat it with your hands. ps I have no idea what lambs lettuce and those other things are, but, by the descriptions, I wouldn't like them at all!

Because no human being could possibly stand more than 30 minutes of such high octane fun and excitement!!! When they headline they play for longer though.....

That church gig was a lot of fun! They should play and possibly taint more sacred spaces.
The farming theme got really prominent.
I like T equally well when she is glowering.
Watercress is all over wetter North America after being introduced by European addicts 1,000,000 years ago.

Yes, I've been vegetarian for over 30 years for health reasons. It has worked fine for me. A sandwich needs two pieces of nice thick bread spread with butter and something to keep the buttered sides of the bread apart. Preferably cheddar cheese sometimes accompanied with whatever friends it chooses to bring to the party. For a while I had a Mayonnaise Addiction. I'd suggested lambs lettuce because the individual leaves are sort of a similar in shape and it's one of those "cool" things that often seem to wind up in salad mixes. I hate it. Perhaps I should have compared watercress to some of those bitter Italian type lettuce leaves. But that's not very similar either.

A link to the last NO CARS gig. It will go down in history as featuring the world debut of a very controversial song; 'Tipp-Ex'!! youtu.be/5rQrR3rhnR4Marvel at these three ex Geishas, all aged 17, & their pet racoon. Marvel at the agility of Haruna! Marvel at the viruoso bass playing of Takaco! Marvel at the dead pan demeanour and cress eating ability of Tomoko! Marvel at the sheer racooness of Candy Tanaka! This gig really was the most fun I've had WITHOUT taking my clothes off!!!! I grinned like a fool from start to finish. Also I got Sellotaped by Tomoko (across my specs), I will treasure that piece of Sellotape for the rest of my life! ENJOY! (I know you will!)

Haha, just as well she did not have the Tipp-Ex handy. Haruna was really enjoying herself, it must be Spring. And the other two were not enjoying anything even more than ever. Tomoko should go a little bigger, her bit really is very funny. Thanks for the V-D-O!

WARNING! VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED! Takaco twisted my arm (not literally) last night into posting this on YouTube, I still feel a bit mean posting it!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=AigLUHIux5MAt this gig, during the second band, I had the shock of my life when in through the doors walked ......... EMI!! 'Goodness me,' or words to that effect I shouted in thegl0r's ear 'Is that Emi?!' As this beautiful young Japanese women walked past I realized it was not Emi, however, it was Emi's exact double. This young woman looked so much like Emi it was unbelieveable. I wanted to snap a photo of her but thought better of it. Perhaps I should have asked her 'Do you play drums by any chance?' Perhaps she is fed up with elderly punks approaching her & asking incrediously 'Are you Emi!!'
