Putting up a permanent link to Japan Today was a good idea... wish I'd thought of it ... I can't believe they would have a man in his 60s doing such dangerous work

Ill be talking to somebody about Japan and they will ask where are you getting this information This is my daily source of news.....Cant live without it now... Go back a few weeks and see the women working at Fukushima #1 power plant they are in their 40s and passing the limit of radiation...Fukushima #2 is just 10 kilometers south of the #1 plant...Nobody even talks about that much. Cant count on Cables Fox or Cnn for anything... Pete 712

I read Japan Today a lot; also I sometimes read Japan Probe and the Japan Times. Once I read about a Japanese artist who carves pictures into bananas and then eats them; sometimes he's on live TV in Japan. The Japanese are so creative!

That's so romantic, but for what they're spending they could buy her a condo abutting the schoolyard.
On the other hand, I wouldn't mind living inside a Miyazaki movie. Any of them.

This doesn't sound too radical. North of the knee became South of the knee. Next: white ankle socks for Summer and ¥10 coins in penny loafers again. Girls eating ice cream and then going outside on a windy January day in Tokyo with their cherry-pink bare legs. It's legendary. The grownups do it too, in sheer hose. Sapporo, different story. Those scrunched ribbed bulky socks were over 10 years ago except in cartoons. I don't have data, but I believe super thigh-highs were never not a little exceptional. +-+-+-+- EDIT +-+-+-+- Now that it's snowed, this certified internet classic photo is everywhere again. It's probably from winter 2014. Said to be Hokkaido, which is possible, but Sapporo gets 235 inches of Siberian snow in an average winter, so what's this, November? Now, here is some snowfall. The Japanese Alps divide Toyama from Nagano. They're only moderately north of Tokyo, but way westward and Mt. Tateyama is 3,015 meters high. Northern joshi kosei, winter phaseDraped Burberry plaid scarf, check. Open shopping tote, check. Open car-coat, double check. The only concession to weather: lined slip-on boots, not terribly waterproof, which will be slipped right off again inside the door.

Oh dear, I do worry about those Japanese schoolgirls who have taken to wearing such short socks. Like others have mentioned in that Rocket News 24 article, they do look cold and should wear something more sensible with their tiny short skirts. Over the knee socks seems like something sensible to wear, especially in the colder months. It could be they're rebelling against having to use that pesky sock glue to keep their socks up. Perhaps sock glue is made from whales, so they're being eco friendly by avoiding this product. sock glueBut if they don't want to usse sock glue, there are other ways for them to keep their socks up... sock suspendersBut don't despair, as is mentioned in another article, Osaka is safe as they're trapped in the past.

^^^^^ It's eerie how much the myna sounds like the woman, but it says whatever the hell it wants, not what she's trying to get it to say. If the bird would just behave predictably, you could prank people pretty hard on the telephone.
