Hatsue's first official show with Shonen Knife in 2008 at the end
of January was reported in an official blog post from "Staff",
which in those days seems to be Atsushi Shibata in his
Tomato Head role.
By this time, Pink Pander had been dissolved for nearly four
years, and Etsuko had been full-time with SK well over two years.
Hatsue had been leading her own band, Hachi. 14 months
further on, there would be a one-night Pink Pander reunion gig
on the fifth anniversary of their breakup. So these two must
have enjoyed playing together again!
At this 2008 January show, the Shonen Knife Japan Team
consists of Naoko plus the transplanted Pink Pander rhythm section,
with Hatsue filling Michie's/Atsuko's shoes up to and including
the lead vocal on "Devil House".

shonenknife.net/blog/archives/58Left Osaka in the afternoon, going in to Kyoto by car. Mount Hiei
is a snow mountain, patches of powder here and there. It's cold.
The first Knife show of the year is today! Also the Knife's first time
at the venue, UrBANGUILD. First time for Hatsue-chan supporting
the Knife on bass! All sorts of "firsts" @ UrBANGUILD.
First time setting eyes on opening act "Duckmandu" was last year
on the Knife's US tour, he had come to watch the San Francisco
show. Fairly maniacal punk tunes sung while playing a huge accordion!
The second set by "ZINGI" was hot covers of punk rock classics.
Then Shonen Knife's appearance in the Mondrian look.
Hatsue-chan on bass, as expected, was in a previous band with Etchan
— is that the reason they're glued to each other? You wouldn't believe
it was her first time playing with the Knife, it was "first-time familiarity".
A mid-show surprise, Hatsue-chan's lead vocal was showcased on "Devil House"!!
Altogether a great climax, the Knife cut a good start for 2008!
After the event, enthusiastic performances by "ZIG ZAG" and "ULTRA BIDET",
two big wheels supporting the Kyoto rock scene! We spontaneously enjoyed it
from the audience, *nice* event!
Next live is Kouchi on 2/15. LA Knife Atusko-san's participation is a must-see!
