Yay! Naoko has posted this A great pic in front of a Bottlebrush tree. Ritsuko looks happy and healthy. She's looking great. Naoko almost looks like the proud father, "I'll just take a pic of us to show to the folks at work." But look at Rits's fringe - its in bondage! Perhaps she's growing it out. Please no.

I had the same impression that Naoko looks proud and protective of her girl.
I'm sure Rits can use the support, her own expression has been getting... not beseeching, but you need your friends at a time like this.
It's all showbiz, but there's no boundary between that and life anymore. Which is a little bit good for showbiz, possibly even a little good for life.

I had the same impression that Naoko looks proud and protective of her girl. I get the feeling that Naoko thinks of Rits as her successor; note how quickly she replaced Etsuko, when she got pregnant? Rits, on the other hand seems to have a job for life, if she wants it! I never got the feeling that Naoko and Etsuko were ever really close; but, for whatever reason, Naoko seems to treat Emi and Rits more like family..... The daughters she never had? (Except for Emma, that is )

...note how quickly she replaced Etsuko, when she got pregnant? That just won't go away, will it? And she was the second pillar of the rhythm section with Ritsuko. But to harp on it forever is terribly unfair to Rits, who has more than earned some happy prospects.

Umm... my point was that Rits is obviously a very important member, I personally hope Rits comes back, and takes over SK when Naoko retires in 10 years or so (she will be in her mid 60s by then).

Her hair is a lot wavier when she isn't onstage (Same goes for Atsuko, whose hair is naturally curly)

Her hair is a lot wavier when she isn't onstage (Same goes for Atsuko, whose hair is naturally curly) Her tweet reads, Nan'nen kaburi ni pāma ateta! Atari nikuirashii. Nanka neguse mitai ni naranai ka shinpaida wai.I've permed my whole head for so many years! It's awful to touch. Now I worry that it's turned into something that looks like bed-head!Oh, the anxieties of pregnant beauties. People answered back, basically, Ricchan you're fabulous, don't worry. Bed hair, or unkempt, scraggy-looking hair is pretty bad grooming in JP. I wonder if that figures into their fascination with huge afros. If you want to know what permanent hair straightening is and does, who better to ask than Oprah? www.oprah.com/style/The-Truth-About-Hair-Straightening-TreatmentsHair dance is a more strict discipline than I knew. I thought that stick-straight fan-out was a thing that just happened. But performing artists have been undergoing conk jobs for close to a hundred years. Creeps me out. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conk

I'd run Ritsuko's tweet through about 8 lots of translation software and had come to the conclusion she was moaning about a bad perm that looks like bed-head hair, but isn't as soft to the touch. She'd done it 'cos she wasn't on tour with Shonen Knife, and so she must have got bored.

It's a full demobilization and return to civilian life, where people more often have whatever hair comes out of their heads. In my travels, I ran into a lot pictures of the 2010 tour through UK. Here's our girl with rock-star, outdoorsy, but still processed, hair: Ritsuko with Shonen Knife at ATP 2010 (Matt Groening)Minehead, England UK 2010 May 07 Photo by Simon Godley on Flickr ( Shonen Knife ~ 4) I think I see some breakage and split ends.
