100 years later The Beatty House has barely changed in the last 100 years (Even the original iron fence is still there!) The McClearyhouse has had some significant cosmetic changes, but, the house is still very recognisable!

Old Welland Railroad/GTR station; Main st Welland Another of the old stations that used to be in my town... I watched the old freight shed (long building behind the station...formerly the original "Welland Railway" station*) burn to the ground in the early 70s (I was coming home from school and was there before anyone else...incl the firemen....and NO, I didn't start the fire~!) *The GTR, [now CN] bought the line and renamed it around 1900, when the cute GTR station seen here was built

My paternal Grandmother's first Canadian ancestor's house (The home of Jean Dumay (or Demers) and family, from 1689 to 1764) The home looking more or less original (1980s?) and the unflattering facelift the house has received since The house is in Quebec city (Lower town) just under the Chateau Richelieu Hotel. Another Google view, you can see the giant Chateau Richelieu Hotel on the hill behind

Another of my postcard collection, an early view of the late great local amusement park, Crystal Beach (It was about a 35 min drive from where I live) and the Cyclone Roller Coaster; once infamous as the scariest coaster of it's day! (It was eventually rebuilt in a safer configuration and renamed Comet < Today the original Comet resides at The Great Escape amusement park in Queensbury, New York) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_Beach_Cyclone

From my postcard collection; the remains of an old windmill that once graced Lake Erie near the town of Fort Erie (About a 25 min drive from here); while the area (and road) are still know as "Windmill Point", the mill itself has been completely demolished.

Do you think snowmobiles for the street are a new idea?? Canam Spyder: The new Canam Spyder is basically a Skidoo on wheels for summer riding; but, this "revolutionary" idea is nothing new:
