In Canada, we have Hockey Street (or ball) hockey Roller hockey Floor hockey table (and dome) hockey penny hockey and... a few weirdos play a strange game we call "field hockey", in kilts! (But, there's no game called ice hockey) I won't mention it in any Canadian bars. With all those alternative flavors, think of it as permissible pleonasm. Did you know there's only one kind of football? It's true. If you say "American football" in the Midwest, you're not only un-American, you're from some other planet. Here in the tropics, the field version of hockey was the universal fall sport of preppy girls before national Title IX legislation, and before soccer took off. Now there's this: laxcamps.com/the-growth-of-girls-lacrosse/

Another great clip from THE ROCKET... showing what is usually called the greatest goal that Maurice Richard ever scored; an overtime goal, that won one of the most horrifically rough playoff series, in history... even the Boston Goalie ("Sugar" Jim Henry) , had 2 black eyes! And again, what you see here, is ALL true, just the way it happened, in 1952. www.habseyesontheprize.com/2012/4/8/2932519/recalling-the-rockets-greatest-goal

Chariots of Fire has nothing on this movie, as a pure sports melodrama.

Ain't that a shameSo long Antoine "Fats" Domino, R.I.P Fats Domino - I'm Walking2015 MAR 13 by RockandRoll (02:02) Fats Domino, rock 'n' roll pioneer has died at age 892017 OCT 25 (Associated Press) www.phillytrib.com/entertainment/fats-domino-rock-n-roll-pioneer-has-died-at-age/article_96bc0d19-9ce2-54c8-a3e3-e86571be144d.html NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Fats Domino, the amiable rock 'n' roll pioneer whose steady, pounding piano and easy baritone helped change popular music even as it honored the grand, good-humored tradition of the Crescent City, has died. He was 89.
Mark Bone, chief investigator with the Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, coroner's office, said Domino died Tuesday.〜〜〜 Hard to imagine rock 'n' roll without the boogie-woogie piano player from New Orleans. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fats_Domino

The 1965 Tamla-Motown tour of Great Britain Interviews, amateur 8mm footage and archival video
Legends: The Motown Invasion 2013 NOV 01 by northernsoultrain (58:56)
"This is the story of how an ambitious label from Detroit conquered Britain through talent, drive and a little help from some UK friends…"
• Then they play three American hits from Motown covered by the Beatles prior to 1964.
• Then they have John Schroeder from Oriole Records explaining that Motown couldn't get traction in the UK because the Beatles took all the attention.
• Then they give props to the Beatles for hyping Motown.
🤔 It is a great story.
Paz Lenchantin, lately of the Pixies, told an interviewer that she decided the bass was her instrument after hearing Paul McCartney. Here you have McCartney half-crediting James Jamerson with teaching him bass off Motown records.
Although he completely mis-remembers and has the bass doing the guitar part.

I'm no judge, but doesn't the slo-mo show she's just about perfect? Maybe the outside leg could have come forward a bit quicker to take the little pause out of the momentum of the landing. A teenaged skater's got to be thinking, wait, wait, my turn was next.
